I myself go back and forth on the smart relay vs dumb relay thing. At the beginning of Nostr I was most excited by the “thousands of dumb servers” idea. Which theoretically allowed us to experiment with lots of different kinds of unique features. Like NIP-28 Public Chats that persist across several dumb servers at the same time. Remember NIP-28? Yeah nobody else does either. I think then the relay operators got sick of the experimental spam and stuff. So we started leaning into the smart server architecture. Now every server (other than Damus, Primal, nos.lol) are trying to be a unique sort of place. They all support specific NIPs, have specific policies. With these opinionated servers, NIP-29 Relay-based Groups replaced NIP-28. This is kind of cool in its own way. With one key you can be a member of a bunch of different “clubs”. It’s sort of like actually being able to log into twitch, X, Instagram, all with keys. The issue is that there is no common middleware for managing all of these “club memberships” in a sensible way. Relay management screens in apps have not caught up with the opinionated, smart server architecture. With AI though, I think the nostr architecture should probably go back to not just dumb servers, but also dumb clients. dumb server ↕️ smart LLM ↕️ dumb client Have the LLM (locally run or just configured by user) build the queries and filter/sort the feeds.

It’s a shame WorldID tightly coupled their cool proof of humanity tech with this crypto scam $WLD In what world do you need a token to get this proof of humanity system working? Evil sickos fr. Nostr should be famous for decentralized proof of humanity. No reason we can’t post ZK Proofs on here.

Follow lists should be private. Discovery can happen by submitting your private list to a discovery service. With magic math. Ironically that would be more discovery than most apps have that have totally public follow lists.

@npub1utx0...50e8 do you know any specific relays that have NIP-29 relay chat rooms? I’d like to test that out

In the future, public notes will only be for identity related things. Reputation, trust scoring, etc. I think literally everything else is going to be private on here.

@Derek Ross In the post composition box, when I double tap on a word, I can’t drag the text selectors right or left beyond what I double tapped. Text selection seems to be the entire thing, or one word at a time. Ditto iOS app

@Derek Ross @npub1jvnp...89sc I’m getting stuck on the “save your secret key” screen on iOS app. Idk what it wants me to do. I unhide, I copy, I leave the app and come back, nothing works.

LinkedIn incentivizes people to be lifeless shills so they can get jobs. It’s awful, but I get it. Twitter incentivizes people to be lifeless, rage-baiting shills to directly earn money. Nikita and Elon are fucking idiots. Genuinely morons.

This could be built on Nostr quite easily. Discovery and Reputation for human and AI services would each be an event type. Service Discovery would just advertise the price, capabilities, etc. Reputation would roll up a bunch of review events that include a proof of the output work as well as a proof of the payment that took place. Your bot or you need help from an AI or human expert? Query the discovery note types and find some that match. Sort by reputation. Engage

Did you know that it was very common to burn letters after reading them? We have this idea that handwritten letters were these treasured things. Sometimes, but often not.
