Why isn’t Pubky focusing on this private / friends-only posting use case @John Carvalho ? It’s the only thing that sets Pubky apart. Basically only Pubky and Urbit can do that efficiently and Tlon has for unknown reasons decided to never. So it’s an open field right now.

It’s very stupidly easy to time the bottom and top of the bitcoin cycles. I hesitate to even mention this publicly because we still need bag holders that think “tHiS tiMe iS diFfeReNT”
If anyone re-posts this, I’ll try to delete it.
The only currency that lasts is your own mind. Your own mental energy. Everything else is just an attempt to hardcode *that*. Proof of Work blockchain might be the best attempt at hardcoding this value, but it’s still just a game. You’ll eventually be painted into a corner with no choice but to opt out.
The same people adopting bitcoin today will be the same people opting out of it tomorrow.
That’s why regimes kill humans instead of blowing up banks. Human genius is the competing currency, not the technology or tokens.
What if I told you that every single piece of marketing ever produced for Nostr has been viscerally off-putting?
The color purple, the 🤙, the Pura Vida, the Ostrich, the nut sacks. These terrible things keep sprouting up because it’s part of the core ethos of this place. It’s seemingly baked into the protocol to be ugly.

Pubky’s phone number verification is competing with WoT, not keypairs.
Why would anyone waste good content on a network filled with such sycophantic retards

When Nostr is in a competition with Gnu for the most half-baked, abandonware ecosystem

I remember an Urbit designer saying many years ago that ethereum was the only blockchain that cared about UX. I have to agree.
My issue with Ethereum is that I always feel the draw to just go all in on it.
People are like “ethereum is law and bitcoin is money!” Okay, but money is downstream from law. And in this case the law comes with its own money… the money of all money…
I had a pretty long conversation with Claude the other day about Nostr vs Pubky and how they each complement each other in opposite ways.
Then I asked if there was a system that combined the best of both and it pointed me to Willow. I had known about Willow for a bit. Vaguely that it came about from the SSB lineage. Honestly, Willow might be in the exact center of the SSB-Nostr-Pubky triangle.
And then I see that @Nuh contributed to the project years ago 😂 small world indeed
