One of the biggest failures of modern churches is reliance on the government. Bitcoin could help free them from that reliance. What would it take for a church to accept Bitcoin donations and hold them securely? It’s already pretty standard practice to have a group of elders. So N-of-N transaction signing would theoretically already be in place. Give each elder a signer and instruct the church to keep it on the down low who is or isn’t an elder (just like in the ancient times). Have you done any church onboarding like that @hodlbod ?

When I was working with GunDB a while ago, I had this whole design for a p2p social network that worked congruently with natural human relationships rather than creating a weird new category of online parasocial relationship. It was something like: Stranger: just see them around vaguely Acquaintance: leech but don’t seed Friend: leech and seed Family: leech, seed, and act as account recovery assist (Shamir secret sharing) The idea is that you’re not putting people into definitive buckets and managing a “top friends” list sort of thing. Rather, these things are fluid based on your own activity, like in real life. You can’t point to the moment you became friends with someone, it just happened over time.
