Odell is on the SimpleX Consortium lmao

An agreement governing the licensing and evolution of the SimpleX Network protocols.
Nostr is good when it’s honest about what it is. It’s putting up flyers around town. It’s writing on a bathroom wall. It’s leaving a note under a park bench.
But there are zero clients that make that experience honest. Jumble might be closest, but still not really.
Guys, Nostr is literally a network of bathroom wall graffiti. It’s flyers stapled to telephone poles.
Sometimes that is the only place you can get a message out, sure. Make it an option, not the primary.
Extremely accurate explanation of Nostr! It perfectly explains the ugliness that pervades this disgusting protocol.

I email people my real name constantly. It’s a great way to open up collaborations, meet like-minded people, etc. It’s great.
Nostr just hates you, by design. People need to learn that the hard way apparently.

Users do not own their data on nostr. The relays do.
Nostr has never been about “data ownership” or “user respect”. It’s simply a gossip network designed to spread data as far and wide as possible (for an unknown amount of time)

Nostr devs, you are in a race. And the race is to remove features. The race for the Everything App of the West.
- identity/trust
- social/messaging
- commerce/services
Whoever can whittle the features down to just that and make it the best UX in existence, wins.
