I cried through both of them, over and over again. It’s heartbreaking to see how difficult life has been for women, no matter where we are in the world. “It begins with being a woman.” This burden, this struggle—it becomes all of our stories at some point. Some women don’t take part in this fight. In fact, there are those who support this filth. And yes, I dehumanize them. Not because they’re fighting from a place of desperation or disbelief, but because they don’t believe in their own freedom. They feel accomplished when they carve out a spot for themselves in this filthy system. We share many struggles with those fighting for our rights: domestic terrorism, male terrorism, oppressive traditions, fanaticism, twisted beliefs, injustices in the workplace… At some point in life, everyone gets involved in a battle, to some degree. But the added oppression faced because of the color of one’s skin... That’s a different kind of wound. There was a line in the film: “They are fighting on every front.” It was incredibly moving. While watching these films, I wondered: have I truly fought to win this battle? I don’t think so. Because I’ve never been in an environment where I needed to prove myself. No one ever told me, “You’re a woman, you can’t do this.” But if I had been humiliated like they were, maybe I would have felt the need to prove myself—I can’t say for sure. That’s why my respect for those living under such conditions and fighting their battles is immense. A few months ago, my former boss told me, “You’re already free. Why do you talk about this so much?” According to him, people only fight for things they don’t have (!). But the truth is: People fight to gain something. People fight to protect something. And of course, They don’t only harm those they love. They’re only kind to those they love. For me, the greatest love is my freedom. And I don’t think I’m fully free. Mentally and to the extent I can manage in my life, I try to create space for freedom. For example, at home, there are four things I shouldn’t have to “feed”: 1. Animals, 2. Plants, 3. A husband, and 4. Children. When I close the door and leave, I should be free. But is that true freedom? Partially, yes. But things like money and national borders limit freedom. Working for money takes away freedom. Moreover, when those around you aren’t free, neither are you. Because the people you want to move forward with are tied down by the things they have to “feed.” Or they become part of the system of slavery. That’s why individual freedom doesn’t feel very satisfying—it can even be boring. :) And that’s why everyone needs to be free. While watching these films, I looked inward and asked myself: Have I truly fought? No, I don’t think so. I haven’t had to prove myself. No one told me, “You can’t do this!” But I do enjoy fighting against oppressive traditions and fanaticism. I like calling them out because I know their weak spot: they care too much about “What will people say?” I don’t care. And because I don’t, they stay silent to avoid hearing what I might say. Not because they accept my views, but because they’re scared. My fight is against oppressive traditions, fanaticism, and twisted beliefs. A fight begins when their beliefs encroach on the boundaries of mine. Because some people’s beliefs include trying to turn others into copies of themselves. It’s like a virus. I wish there were no need for such battles. When anyone’s belief comes close to the boundary of mine, a conflict arises. Think of it like nations. I hurl verbal “warning shots” as a response. It’s not their belief’s boundary—it’s mine. I draw the line. So: Are rights taken, not given? Or should people learn that “to give rights = to take rights” is a concept no one owns? Who are we asking for these rights from? Animals? Aliens? Where do we get the authority to give someone else the right to “give us rights = take our rights”? In my belief, no one has the authority to give or take anyone’s rights in their life. And I cannot grant anyone the authority to interfere in my life. If they try to take it? That’s a violation of boundaries. It would require invoking the “laws of international warfare.” (!)

My old boss and I got better. But I didn't want him to be my Master's Thesis advisor. The professor I wanted said that he should be there as a 2nd advisor in order to avoid problems with my old boss later. Thank God, the old boss accepted this. I will prepare my master's thesis with 2 advisors. The subject of my Master's Thesis is the Analysis of Strategic Plans of Research Universities with System Dynamics. My old boss will remain in name only. But he will give ideas. Because he is the President of the University. The 1st thesis advisor already has an area of expertise. It will be a great experience for me.
