Bhutan is my favorite Bitcoin country. Quietly and steadily they have mined bitcoin and are outperforming El Salvador.
Absolutely fantastic. View quoted note →

„Bitcoin is emancipation from financial patriarchy.“
I was interviewed by German weekly ‚Wirtschaftswoche‘ about three years of Bitcoin in El Salvador.
The article came out quite positive but very short.

Looking for Bitcoiners living in New Zealand…who are you and where?
Use @SimpleX Chat messenger! It gives you the best #privacy protection.
Unlike #Signal it doesn’t need your phone number.
#Telegram and #WhatsApp not only want your phone number they collect loads of data and metadata from your device. Especially vile is the collection of your device‘s IMEI (device ID) and sharing all that data with companies to make money and with authorities due to the need to comply.
In authoritarian countries this metadata can cost you your life!

I recently deleted Telegram. Lost a lot of access to interesting groups, but Telegram (and Discord too) are awfully bad at privacy.

Financial privacy is enabling freedom of speech against authoritarians.
The banking system and KYC regulations are taking this human right away from us.

Fantastic book.
„We need to puncture the self-importance of the age with regular contact with older, deeper, wider sources of feeling: through contact with a natural world that pursues its own priorities with little reference to our own sagas, through the reading of history books that shrink our modern-day adventures and convulsions to a more manageable and rightful size, and through travel to countries that take no interest in our own peculiar national preoccupations, scandals and triumphs.“

Does #Amethyst allow lists? I only find these. I want to make my own.

I made a Nostr explainer video for the noobs…and yes Nostr is more than a social network. Have a great Saturday!
The fact that bitcoin’s price is falling shows how it’s still correlated with traditional assets, and that the majority is not self-custodying all of which goes to show that 99% of people still don’t understand how fundamentally different bitcoin is.
Stay calm.

Delete Raivo! Messed up big after being sold. All my codes were gone. Ok, I was able to restore it now. But 🤯
Anyone using Ente auth?

Crazy. I feel so much better now that I have been reducing my time on X and also here.
Of course I won’t leave especially as I see Nostr as one of the coolest inventions of our time (after Bitcoin 🤪)
Just wanted to say HI! I’m still here and working on the projects I‘ll be doing with Bitcoin for Fairness in the coming months.
We’re attending the AfroBitcoin conference in Kenya and Adopting Bitcoin in Cape Town. And we have a lot of other cool stuff in the making.
Spending a lot of time in nature and found a rabbit in the hole 👇🏼

From what I read and understood from Proton’s docs is that their solution is actually less privacy preserving than a regular Bitcoin wallet. As your BTC addresses are associated with your Proton email one only needs to send you BTC, then one has the email connection to the BTC address though that transaction. So as long as they don’t have default coinjoins, it’s worse. But ppl will believe it’s more private because of their other products.
Also I saw no RBF or coin control.

Meanwhile I sent some sats to a BTC pay server.

Nice Fiat to sats / BTC converter... only more Fiat currencies esp. African are missing.

ManySats is a simple Fiat to Satoshi Converter
The view that bitcoin is an investment only and a partisan issue is very typical for US-Americans and Europeans as it ignores billions of people in the rest of the world who need bitcoin as a tool to escape their authoritarian regimes’ financial oppression.
Bitcoin is a technology and the only form of money beneath cash that can be used by anyone without permission. Bitcoin doesn’t need politicians good will. Bitcoin is rules without rulers.
