I don't have an issue with him having a bunch of houses per se. The issue is that he has this obvious pad against inflation that the rest of us do not possess. It is the pulling ladder up, and then telling zoomers to get their bootstraps while they can't afford anywhere to live can't get a job... I lived in south Korea for years and speak the language myself. They absolutely do this in their own ways. Not the restaurant thing but, for example, foreign tech companies like apple canot own their own brick and mortor stores. To get any apple products in South Korea, a consumer must go through a 3rd party local retailer who apple MUST sell through in order to be allowed to sell their stuff in the country at all. Those locals then get to upcharge apple for the privilege, thereby making it function as an indirect tariff on apple products too. Only the west cares so little for their own local businesses as to NOT do this when everyone else does. When everyone else does it but we don't, it is just a constant bleed. WE pay taxes on our market share abroad but THEY get to trade for our money for naught but the cost of shipping. And let's not even include the "made in Europe" products that are actually made in foreigner sweatshops (like the north Korean labor factories...
