We had such a great time at @Bitbiashara ‘s merchant meetup, which also marked the graduation of their 2nd cohort. It was an honor to share with the bitcoin-accepting merchants how Tando is a powerful tool for them💚
Hearing directly from merchants about how they use Tando in their businesses, from restocking with suppliers to confidently accepting bitcoin payments, knowing they now have an easy way to spend it, was incredibly humbling. That’s the kind of value we’re proud to bring to the circular economy.
@Sabina emphasized how essential merchants are, they’re the glue that keeps the flywheel spinning, making sure bitcoin keeps moving and serving real needs. And we’re happy Tando plays a role in helping them get that flywheel going⚡️
Big thanks to Bitbiashara for having us, wishing you and the merchants continued success as you push the limits of the future of finance🧡

...and emphasized the importance of Listening and not Lecturing when talking to people about Bitcoin.
Tando was born from this very act of listening during our efforts to orange-pill Kenyans. At the time, we made it a habit to tip service providers in Bitcoin. Without fail, there was one question we kept hearing after the bitcoin hit their wallet: “How can I spend it?”
We didn’t lecture them with responses like “HODL, don’t spend it!” or “You don’t spend your Bitcoin!”
Instead, we listened, and what they were really asking for was an easy way to turn their bitcoin into basic necessities, a way to spend it. That’s how Tando came to be.
If you can only receive Bitcoin but can’t _easily_ spend it, then you’re trapped in the classic “chicken and egg” problem
To break out of that eggshell, you need a tool that lets anyone easily spend their bitcoin, to transform into a fully grown chicken (aka a bitcoin circular economy). That’s where Tando comes in.
If Bitcoin is to become an everyday money, we need solutions that make spending it simple just like people simply spend their day-to-day fiat money.
As bitcoiners, we need to listen instead of lecturing if we truly want to accelerate Bitcoin adoption. People are telling us what they need, all we have to do is listen!
