i kept letting obsidian get complicated, so i would go back to just using grep, ripgrep, and helix for notes. but there are some capabilities in obsidian that i want, so time to force simple.

speaking of obsidian, what i really want is a plug in that enables quick time stamp reference links to audiofiles.
so i can take notes on a podcast, and link to the timestamp in the audio file.
if you collect a list of some friends public ssh keys, a single $5 OpenBSD VPS can become a private communication hub where all communication is internal to the server, using simple included old school tools like mail, and talk. they can even be regularly destroyed and new ones spun up.
IMO, nostr development which has focused on bling, influencers, and convenience, is going to regret not spending more time developing for a hostile State environment very soon.
