a weird thing about plan9 is the way each window has its own unique namespace view of the system. meaning, other windows have no access to what is running in a window. but if you spawn another window from within the window you are working with, it inherits all of the namespace access the origin window has. in the unix paradigm, you have users, and a super user. in plan9, there is no super user or root. each window acts almost like an individual user. you can even spawn windows into ramfs, so that what happens in that window never touches the hard drive, and is not accessable by any other part of the system. if this sounds like nerdy gobbletygook, thats because it is.

all the little details in damus are cooler when you know people are putting in effort to make all those little things happen. i dunno 🤷 gratitude and nerdy fascination are cool. entitlement is dumb.
