i once dated a girl who my parents liked alot. she even stayed friends with them after we broke up. even after she was married, she would always stop to visit my parents around christmas time. i always got the feeling my parents were disappointed we didnt wind up together, on one of the last christmas visits before she moved away, my mother came over and gave me a hug and whispered in my ear, “you dodged a bullet” and walked away.
