Programming is the art of turning fuzzy requirements into hard computer instructions. Translating a poorly defined βwantβ into code.
As higher-level interfaces emerge, increasingly mediated by AI, the job of programmer is still the same, but increasingly philosophical.
What is it that you (your manager, your customer) really want? What should happen when things go wrong? What does value mean in this context?
These are programming questions in the age of AI. Itβs less about syntax, and more about satisfying contextual human desires.

@Damus feature request: use a local database to cache content. That way, when I open the app, itβs not just blank.
Sometimes I ask questions on Nostr rather than searching the Internet. Maybe this is lazy, but it creates content and gives someone else a chance to make content too. Plus I can zap them if I like the answer.

In Idiocracy, in the year 2505, Rita, the prostitute, is handed a wad of bills by a potential client. The top bill is for $10,000,000.
Assuming that thatβs roughly $10 in 2005 money, it implies a compound annual inflation rate of only roughly 2.8% over 500 years.
That seems wildly optimistic. Extrapolating a conservative M2 inflation of 8%, $10 in 2005 should be roughly equal to $500,000,000,000,000,000 in 2505.
That is 500 Quadrillion dollars. $500Q for short.
