In his 'Natural History' Pliny quotes Eratosthenes as measuring the circumference of the Earth at 252,000 stadia (~39.000 km) which is very close to the actual ~40,075 km. He also very clearly calls it a globe. Erastosthenes was born in 276 BC.

It's interesting to watch the negotiations between EU payment systems. It has taken them years and will still take them a few more to finally have EU-wide instant P2P payments. All that time LN⚡ and zaps have allowed anyone in the world to instantly send sats. No permission required. They will need a few thousand hours of negotiations to make it possible for someone to send an instant payment from France to Italy... and here I am sending zaps to Nigeria, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela...
