Okay I was wrong before when I said today's the day they're going to finish the story they started writing in 1994, there was another whole issue of #Spider-Man '94 and today really is the day (actually it was yesterday, but I didn't make it to the #comicbook store) Anyway here goes

Has anyone made a photorealistic housefly icon that you can use as your mouse cursor, yet?

Growing up in America it went without saying that we were the good guys (obviously?). And when we were learning about history they said the Germans were the bad guys and the Russians, too. It wasn't until later that we figured out that the winners get to write history. I live basically smack in the middle of America in what they call the Heartland and it's where most of the farming is done. My father worked a job in the foundry of a factory where they started with smelted steel and ended up with tractors. And when I was a kid, maybe 12 years old (circa ~1986), they told us that the tractor factory that many of our fathers worked at, including my own, could easily be converted to make tanks instead of tractors and for that reason it had become one of the targets of Russian nukes. This thought scared the life out of me growing up. And we didn't live very far from the tractor factory so my friends and I all assumed that if the tractor factory got nuked, we would all get nuked along with it. And it was a terrifying thought that, at any moment, someone somewhere could push a button and obliterate us all right out of existence. It scared me my whole childhood after that. But now as an adult I know that not every person from Germany or Russia or any country is a "bad guy" like they wanted us to believe. In fact most in the world, like most in America, are not bad people. They're mostly families raising children who wouldn't go to war with anyone on their own. I think people forget that the first country the nazis invaded was their own. And I'm sure it was just as crazy to watch unfold for the rest of the Germans at the time as it is for the rest of us Americans right now. I'm not even one of their primary targets (yet), you know, the usual brown people and queer people where it always starts, but I am an open-minded person that doesn't hate any large groups of people whom I do not know and it still feels dangerous to live here. Surely the madness will stop at Minneapolis. Right?

I'd like to check out Arc Raiders it looks pretty fun, but it seems like every time an online game gets popular it also immediately gets filled with cheaters which makes me not want to play. #videogames #gamer #gamestr

I got some work done on Jolene's Recipes last night, made it so the ingredients are added to their own collection in mongo so we can now search by ingredients, too, instead of just by recipe names. Then I picked up Dune Messiah for the first time in a while and read a couple chapters before bed. I've been working on a web page for my wife's recipes and I have used chatGPT for some of it. It's starting to get a little messy and I'm considering changing course and making it an #OpenSource project instead. I feel like it would be faster and less messy that way, but I've never done that before. #WebDev #WebDevelopment #AI

Finally getting to play Link's Awakening on the #Switch, it's so adorable! I was there for that when it came out originally on GameBoy. I saw friends playing it and wanted to check it out, but I never had a GameBoy. And now, all these years later, my daughter had it on her Switch and I said something about so she let me borrow it and I'm totally playing through it finally 😁🤘🏻 I love that #Nintendo lets people borrow digital games! Every other company wants every single person that looks at a game to pay for it. I remember letting my friends borrow cartridges all the time when I was a kid and I'm pretty sure it wasn't illegal #Videogames
