Shelled 40 bucks on Kimi, let's see what this lil' fucker can do.

Since I was having fun vibecoding GlassyOS, I vibecoded another theme for GNOME, based on my view of nostr client Outkast. This is outkastOS, a clean, minimal and keyboard oriented theme, licensed MIT so do whatever you want with it :)

# OUTKAST IS HERE. 🟠 **You don't need permission to exist online.** LibreNostr is dead. Long live **OUTKAST**. This isn't just a new name, a new icon, or a fresh coat of paint. It's a statement. I started with LibreNostr because I wanted a free, independent, open-source Nostr client. But somewhere along the way, I realized something: **Freedom shouldn't come with a learning curve.** Decentralization shouldn't mean complicated interfaces. Privacy shouldn't require a computer science degree. And using Nostr shouldn't feel like configuring a server. **The technology should serve you. Not the other way around.** 🔥 A completely reimagined UI and UX. 🎨 Two new identities: OUTKAST Dark & Light. ⚡ Social, zaps, messaging, and the features you already know. 🔓 Relay-native. Open source. No gatekeepers. 🧡 A bold new identity for those who refuse to fit inside someone else's walled garden. Same Nostr. Same freedom. A whole new attitude. And if you're already using LibreNostr, OUTKAST is its evolution, not a separate app. Your identity stays yours. We're not building another platform to control you. We're building a better way to exist outside of them. No permission. No masters. No walled gardens. Just you, your keys, and the network. #OUTKAST #Nostr #OpenSource #FreedomTech

Found a rabbit on the side of the road, brought it to the vet. It's gonna be a long evening...

LibreNostr v1.1.3 is out 🚀 New • Quotes: every note now shows how many notes quote it. Tap the counter to read the quotes as full notes and open any of them. • React with any emoji: long-press the heart. Tap a filled heart again to take the reaction back. • NIP-22 comments (kind 1111) on articles, shown as a tree, and picked up in threads and notifications. • GIF search now runs on nostr.build, with proper attribution. Thanks @nostr.build! Fixed • Uploads over Tor: the default media servers refuse Tor exits, so servers that accept them are tried first. • Videos can be uploaded again: large files skip servers that would refuse them, without sending the file first. • The media tab of a profile loads again. • Article comments load again. • A like that failed to publish no longer stays counted.

A huge thank you to all the people running free Nostr relays 💜 They have no block reward, no guaranteed income, no protocol-level incentive. Yet you spend your time, money, bandwidth and resources to keep this network alive, allowing people around the world to communicate in a decentralized way, resistant to censorship and with an extraordinary degree of freedom of speech. Nostr wouldn’t be Nostr without you. To every free relay operator out there: thank you for keeping the network open. 🫂⚡ And also to paid relay operator, that on top of all the aforementioned features, they guarantee a spam-free experience. Despite all the critic "memenfluencers have" this is truly a magnificent environment.
