Ended up landing on Mark Twain the adventure of Huckleberry Finn. Hard to read at times due to the language, but at the point in the book where Huck is conflicted with returning Jim (the slave accompanying him in his journey) and keeping his promise to help Jim get to the free states. Moments in life lead to opportunities to live out your convictions. I am reminded to listen to that voice in your head.

My mom had an appointment on the first of September. She called and said that she could no longer keep that day and if she could reschedule. Just finished the Great Gatsby, the Most Dangerous Game short story, and I got about a 1/3 into East of Eden before putting it down. I’m thinking the Pearl is next by Steinbeck

I’ve been at awake for 40 hrs and at work for 28 of those hours. Sleeping on planes/ in car rides. Maybe 2 hrs of purposeful sleep total. But in the world of healthcare it is a blessing to help others 🥹

So as a non tech person and the coldcard incident…what does it take to trust/verify myself any piece of hardware now?

I feel extremely lucky. I haven’t been checking NOSTR other than once/week. The one day I checked on it I heard about the coldcard incident. I can’t image what it would be like to be in other people’s shoes who lost it all. Kinda feel like I missed a bullet
