This is very true. Most people have over developed comment muscles, and when you ask what they’ve actually built or produced, you see tumbleweeds. View quoted note →
I’m old enough to remember when u could drive a car on the highway in relative peace. Society has become so boomerfied & zoomerfied that it’s like a nursing home & a children’s play pen all in one. Everything is “for your safety” and every service provider's priority is "your safety" - as if they actually give a shit about you. From the humiliation rituals at the airport, to the masks during lockdowns, to the helmets being enforced on scooters & their non allowance after 11pm in places like Oslo (in Spain they're banning under 21's from electric scooters...lol), to the modern cars that beep at you about everything from a seat belt, to lane change alerts on the highway. All of it is designed for the lowest common denominator of mid-wit. It's an insult to anyone with a brain and some agency. And for everyone else, it trains them to be ever more soy-jacked, dependent and useless. All the more reason to build a parallel society, including our own cars, our own cities, our own roads, our own social networks, our own airports, our own airlines and our own city-states. image

Looking forward to watching this fat clown eat his own words like he eats pizza & seed oils. image
“Beauty will save the world” Dostoevsky first said this in his book “The Idiot”. Solzhenitsyn named his Nobel speech by the same quote. Many years later, I drew inspiration from both, along with Nietzsche, Aristotle, Hoppe, Orwell & many other greats, to give a talk by the same name. Thanks to @BTC Prague for having me once more this year.
The Dolomites are truly a special part of the world. I encourage everyone to come visit. More details (things to do, places to stay, bookmarks & collections) coming soon to @Satlantis: Social Events
🚨 WATCH THIS. SOUND ON 🔉 2yrs, 7 drafts & 125,000 words later, The Bushido of Bitcoin is finally available for pre-order. Writing this book has been a journey, and the process literally transformed my understanding of the world. This is NOT another history of money or economic justification for Bitcoin. Been there, done that. This is a book about virtue, excellence, culture and behaviour, which asks the harder questions: What becomes of those who rise to the top, in the new socio-economic paradigm? Will they become: --> A new kind of parasite? --> Another bunch of degenerate? Or --> Men & women of virtue. It’s not enough to just say “Bitcoin Fixes This.” We must do something about it. ____________________ The age of fiat will not last. A new era will take its place. The question is, who will lay claim to it? IMO: those who understand, that a new age, demands a new way of being. A new paradigm requires a new code, (a Bushido), that’s more vital, powerful and ascendant. The Bushido of Bitcoin is that playbook. ____________________ This is my attempt to synthesise the best of what I’ve found in both the dissident grass-roots right and philosophy-centric bitcoin domain. Some of you may be familiar with each other, but many of you will not. I hope this opens some doors and helps form a powerful alliance against the goblins and trolls running the world today. ____________________ I'd like to thank a few people who helped and/or inspired me along the way. (This is a good follow list, so take note) John Carter (@martianwyrdlord on X) - the best editor and intellectual sparring partner I could’ve asked for. Also one of the best writers you'll come across. The book is not only twice as long but 10x better since you got involved and pushed me. Thankyou. Ross Stevens - Thankyou for your support, for agreeing to write the foreword and most importantly, for being a modern day Cosimo de Medici. You are a true Renaissance man. @saifedean @parkeralewis & @allenf32 - your work and integrity continue to inspire. You are of the rare few Austrians & Bitcoiners on earth today with the courage and fortitude to blaze a new trail & your work on Bitcoin is the only work I reference and point people to if they want the economic argument for Bitcoin. There are of course many others. Finally - a shout out to @heliand_22. Working with you on this trailer was a blast. You are a true magician. Reach out to this man if you want the best in video work. And shoutout to DOS BRAINS for the music. Incredibly powerful, and I hope this trailer has done you justice. ____________________ You can pre-order the book NOW on @geyserfund - along with some limited edition variants that once sold out, are sold out forever.
What is @Satlantis: Social Events ? It's hard to say. It's a new kind of social app, that's part NomadList, part Meetup, part Instagram, Google Places and Trip Advisor. Some might say "this is not a good thing" bc people don't know how to categorise it, which is a fair criticism, but I'd argue, there was also no way to really describe Facebook or Instagram when they first came onto the scene. Building something NEW requires that you discover what you are along the way. Especially if you're trying to fundamentally transform an industry. If you just want to build another widget or app - sure - it helps to solve a very narrow problem, and position it in a way that's very easy to relate back to something that exists. But...if your aim is to do something both new, and transformative, you have to push boundaries and build things in a way that makes more intuitive sense, than logical sense. That being said, it's got to be done in stages, with each stage delivering some form of very clear & precise value. This week, we'll roll out the first version of Satlantis at @BTC Prague which is basically a "City Home Page" derived from social content on Nostr. Anyone can follow a city, post content about anything in a city, search for & join events, find people in that city, connect with them directly, learn about a city (scores, stats, gallery) and see a dynamic feed with content people are posting on OTHER Nostr apps (if they hashtag the city). In the coming weeks and months, we'll be rolling out rich user profiles, a feature rich merchant map with some really cool review & content features, and much more. Stay tuned.
Pretty accurate. I’ve been a far right fascist most of my life I guess. image
LOVE this city!! Honestly one of my favourite in the world - and I have been to MANY places. #prague #praha image
Last year in Prague, we announced @Spirit of Satoshi . We spent a good 9mths building the best bitcoin-centric LLM in the world. We open sourced it earlier this year, and decided to shift our focus to Nostr. You can download it free on HuggingFace, or use it at http://SpiritOfSatoshi.ai for Sats. For the last 5/6 months the team & I have been working on @Satlantis: Social Events. We’ll be once again announcing it at @BTC Prague Satlantis is a new kind of client. It’s not a standard “social network.” Instead, it’s a blend of: - Travel Platform (think TripAdvisor), - Image-focused Social Network (think Instagram) - Merchant Map (think Google Places). We are releasing the desktop version next week, with a focus on “city pages” - where you can discover events, merchants, people and places in those cities. Much more to say about it, but I will leave it there for now. Follow @Satlantis: Social Events for more info, and stay tuned for a truly unique “travel & community” social experience. Staff are a reflection on a brand & culture. Flew Iberia today. Wow. 🤡 The only words that come to mind are: “old and tired” maybe also “irrelevant & decrepit” Not only did the in flight electronics just black out in the middle of the safety presentation 😆🤡 but their safety presentation video looks like it was made by someone on Fiverr. None of it made any sense. And of course. Instead of having happy, energetic, attractive fliggg attendants…they have a bunch of cranky old grannies. @PABLOF7z - you will appreciate this more than most: An airline is a reflection of the country’s society / culture in many ways. Iberia VS Emirates for example is a clear representation of Dubai VS Spain.
