If you can create a habit of recognizing unproductive self-talk, you can male a quick tweak, voice the same feeling, but change the nature of the question you get a vastly different result. For example, if you’ve ever said to yourself, “why can’t I just…”, you will receive all the answers for why not. Try changing the language into “how can I”, and you’ll be surprised what a difference this makes. If you strive for perfection you will fall short, but along the way you’ll reach excellence.
