You never know who you're running with at #Parkrun and today I had the pleasure of meeting Dame Kelly Holmes, double Olympic gold medallist at the 800m and 1500m, Athens 2004. She finished then handed out chocolate eggs and lollipops. What a legend!

Imagine stacking half a million bitcoins and not moving the price.
That’s exactly what Strategy has done over the last 18 months.
Strategy BTC Holdings & Price
October 2024: ~262,000 | $65,000–$70,000
March 2026: ~762,000 | $65,000–$70,000
The takeaway from this is to keep your savings on-chain; everything else is a mirage.
Bloomin hell!
“Claude found more than 500 zero-day vulnerabilities (security flaws that are unknown to the software’s maintainers) in well-tested open-source software….”
TIL: October 31st is World Savings Day. Established in 1924 to rebuild trust in the very banking system Satoshi’s whitepaper challenged. The irony of publishing it on this date, just two weeks after a $2 trillion bank bailout, is poetic.
11th Parkrunaversary 🥳 Athlete age (the only number that matters) down from 40 to 25. VO2max: 55.1. Never felt fitter or more free. Running and bitcoin — highly recommend.
While in Rome, chatting to my AI about Roman history, things got wild pretty fast.
Me: “I am in the Pantheon, talk to me like a tour guide...”
“I’m in the Pantheon” got translated to “I’m in the PUMKIN” and “talk to me like a tour guide” got translated as “talk to me like a TALL GUY” 🤣
AI glasses fixes this…
TIL - UV rise and sunrise are related but not the same.
Sunrise is when the sun first appears above the horizon, but at that moment the UV index is essentially zero (or very close to it). The sun’s rays are passing through a much thicker slice of atmosphere at such a low angle, which scatters and absorbs most of the UV radiation.
UV levels build gradually after sunrise and typically:
∙ Start becoming meaningful (UV index 1+) roughly 1–2 hours after sunrise
∙ Peak around solar noon (when the sun is highest in the sky), not at midday clock time
∙ Drop back to near zero 1–2 hours before sunset
A rough rule of thumb is that significant UV exposure happens in the middle portion of the day — often cited as 10am–4pm in summer at mid-latitudes like the UK.
