#NOSTR IS ENTERING ITS BREAKOUT PHASE This is according to @Vitor Pamplona, creator of @Amethyst. I sat down with Vitor to discuss this as well as the future of monetization for creators and why it’s important to view #Bitcoin through a freedom lens versus a financial one.
Bitcoin Magazine now has a hard press pass to The White House. I’ll be reporting from there more regularly now. LET’S GO. image
NEW: Nebraska's LB526, which would regulate large-scale #Bitcoin #miners, gets one step closer to becoming law. The bill requires miners using 1MW of #power or more to cover costs associated with power infrastructure upgrades. Bitcoin #mining will help modernize Nebraska's grid⚡️ (Image courtesy of BitcoinLaws.io) image
I recently spoke to contributors from The Satoshi Papers: Reflections on Political Economy after Bitcoin at an academic symposium for the book. We discussed the chapters they each wrote for this first-of-its-kind interdisciplinary text on #Bitcoin. Here are some highlights from the conversations: #books #bookstr #btc
SAMOURAI DEFENSE PUSHES FOR HEARING ON SUPPRESSED EVIDENCE In a recent letter to the SDNY, the Samourai defense made the case, citing precedent, for why a hearing on why the DoJ withheld key evidence in the case is in order. #samourai #samouraiwallet #freesamourai #freedomtech
Yesterday, Zack Shapiro broke the news that a Brady letter showed that FinCEN told prosecutors that Samourai Wallet wasn’t a money transmitter, yet the DoJ pressed charges anyway. I sat down with Shapiro to discuss the matter in detail. #samourai #samouraiwallet #freesamourai #freedomtech
🚨Surinamese 🇸🇷 political candidate Maya Parbhoe is currently facing a credibility crisis — one that has jeopardized what were the already very low chances of her becoming president of her country. Here's the full report:
I recently sat down with Bo Hines, Executive Director of the President’s Council of Advisers for Digital Assets, to discuss his #Bitcoin vision for #America. He plans to dismantle Chokepoint 2.0 and advance pro-Bitcoin legislation.
I recently sat down with U. S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick to discuss his #Bitcoin vision for #America.
I recently joined @nat brunell to discuss Bitcoin 2025 and my work in reporting from the White House. It was a tremendous privilege and honor to be on her show.
#Bitcoin is #money - not just savings technology. I discussed this as well as how to make bitcoin more usable for everyday people around the world with @Femi Longe , Global Bitcoin Lead at @HRF, at MIT two weeks ago. As always, Femi’s words were pure signal.
I wasn’t having the best day - but then I saw this in The Washington Post. #samourai #freesamourai image
A presidential candidate in Suriname’s upcoming election has been found dead. While the cause of death is unknown, the candidate was a critic of the country’s president, leading to suspicions of malfeasance. Candidate @Maya Parbhoe also recently shared that she’s been threatened. image
It’s been brought to my attention that I may have misspoke at this weekend’s MIT event stating that I’m the only writer covering the Samourai case. That’s surely not the case. Others are covering it, as well. My apologies for misspeaking. I believe the point I was trying to make was in response to @Sjors Provoost (possibly compromised) stating that he anticipated a lot of media to cover the Samourai case, when, in fact, I’m the only member of the media who has been to all four pre-trial hearings. Some other members of the media have started coming to the recent hearings, but it’s a very, very small cohort. That’s all I was trying to say, though I may not have done so properly. Sometimes, when I’m on stage speaking, adrenaline gets the better of me and I misspeak. My apologies again for any confusion this may have caused.
RHODE ISLAND BILL PROPOSES $10,000 IN TAX-FREE #BITCOIN SPENDING PER MONTH Introduced to the RI Senate last month, the bill states that individuals and businesses can spend/sell up to $1k in bitcoin 10 times per month w/o incurring states cap gains taxes.
The #Foundry pool mined nine blocks in a row today. If this trend accelerates, I’d bet that we see #censorship on #Bitcoin before the year is out. image
The energy that #bitcoin sucks in to power the network is given back to all who hold and use it.
