The Here and Now is also just a concept — and concepts can only arise after the fact. In the actual moment there is no one there to say "now." By the time the word arrives, the moment is already gone. The ego is always a messenger arriving too late. Every thought, every sensation, every "I am here now" — these are all reports about something that has already passed. Like the readiness potential in Libet — the movement was already there, the I arrives afterward and says "I wanted this." But the funny thing is — afterward doesn't exist either. Because afterward would need a before. And before would need an observer to establish the sequence. And the observer always arrives late himself. So he never arrives. Because arriving would require another now that no one can enter.
