Sometimes I’m trying to think how my life would have been without bitcoin. Without Satoshi Nakamoto. It would likely have been very different..! ➖ No remote job ➖ No passion ➖ No full-time traveling ➖ Less savings (mentality) ➖ No outlook for a better, fair world ➖ Run the fiat hamster wheel ➖ Different friends ➖ Care about career ladder I guess: “different” savings, job, passion, etc. But I can’t believe I would have been living a more interesting and happier life. Thanks to bitcoin I wrote the two Dutch bitcoin magazines, co-created a Bitcoin board game, wrote dozens of articles, translated five Bitcoin books to Dutch, gave plenty lectures, visited 5+ circular economies, spend most of my time in El Salvador, and much more. Oh, and learned how social media and the internet is broken because bitcoin brought me in nostr. It’s crazy to think how much “an idea” and “computer code” and its community can do to one’s life.

The present is the future of the past.

We all know “Bitcoin is Freedom Money”. But what about “Bitcoin is Free Will Money”? We can choose to use it for the better, or the worse. It doesn’t make the money inherently good, it just reflects how we are: doing good or bad. And the system is not imposing “good” and “bad” on us through AML, laws and surveillance, but bitcoin rather shows the true nature of mankind. Which is neither only good, nor only bad. Bitcoin represents the true essence of life: we have free will. And we can shape the future with this, either for the better or the worse. It’s a true signal of humanity, with free flow of values, money, preferences and economic information. Our money is the ballot.
