Last night hubby out our son on the counter next to the sink where he'd stood a bag of chips that we were eating from. Then our son started to reach in and grabbing chips. It looked adorable! He had one big chip in one hand and then would grab a handful with he other, then put them back and grab a different handful cause they were a bit too big and spicy and hard for his preference 🀣 Seeing an almost 1 year old with only 5 visible teeth eat chips was quite the sight 🀣🀣🀣 Well, hubby was eating some just now, and our son walked up to him and broke a piece off of his chip and started eating it! Then he grabbed a really big chip and worked on that for a while... apparently sharing some of it with the floor 🀣
I cleaned our solar panels today while my son hung out outside with me in his pack n play. He loves going outside and keeps trying to get out, so when I wanted to do some outside work today while hunny went to town, I remembered I can bring that outside and just put it on some boards so it doesn't get super dusty! He seemed to enjoy it! πŸ€—
I hit my knee on the doorframe while trying to get outside with my son. Now it hurts and I have a bump on it. πŸ™„ What did my husband's wife do to me!?!? πŸ˜‡πŸ€£
Anyone working on a project and need a realistic banshee sound, let me know. Our son is practicing and hoping for an audition πŸ₯΄πŸ˜–πŸ‘Ά
Reading and transcribing my mom's old diaries from when I was a kid is very interesting. It also gets me missing all the tasty foods I grew up on that I can't really get (or make) in America. Also cake, I really really want whipped cream cake! Good thing our son turns 1 in... LESS THAN 2 WEEKS?!?! 😱... yeah, I'm definitely making in a whipped cream cake!
Some people say that marriage is hard. I say marriage is what holds things together if things are hard.
Met up with a friend at Panda Express tonight and our son practically ran across the floor! No, not on his own yet, though he did take a few steps, but mostly with my hand under one of his arms. He reminded me a little bit of the Energizer bunny 🀣 but when I tried letting go and only holding the back of his clothes, he started sitting down to crawl, and I wanted to give him walking practice. Only 2 weeks until he turns 1, so we'll see if he catches on before or after his birthday. Oh and I asked him where his dad was but he stared at some nonwhite man (not sure ethnicity) then I got his attempt and pointed at his dad, and then he smiled and pointed too!!! He knew his dad and got excited πŸ€—πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Ά
Sitting in the car and listening to music and eating ice cream with my husband because the car sterio bas the best sound 😎 How's your evening? πŸ€—
Ever slept in the same room as someone else and their alarm went off before you neded to get up, but they didn't turn it off but just let it ring and ring? Ever felt that surge to get up and grab their phone and smash it into a billion pieces because not only do you want it to stop, you want to make sure it never has an opportunity to ring again? Well, I think I've figured out one of the only ringtones that I could accept in such a situation: a baby laughing.
I tried to do something, it didn't work, so I paused and fake cried about it and then tried again, and it worked! Sometimes crying about it actually does solve the problem 🀣🀣🀣🀣
I was making some food and my son was between me and the counter, then I look down, and he's fully climbed up with his hands on the top drawer handle, and his feet on the handle of the bottom drawer! πŸ˜±πŸ€—πŸ˜Ž I instantly called his dad's attention, because wow! Our son is so cool! 😎 Climbing is way more fun than walking! 🀣
This whole new pop up saying "this relay wants to confirm it's really you" thing I've gotten for like the last week or so is really annoying and I'm tempted to block it cause who is it to "confirm I'm really me" on NOSTR?!?!
We made friends! πŸ€— As an adult, this is basically a brag πŸ˜…πŸ€£ We met them at church, and my hubby and the hubby have the same personality type. We're suspecting I might charge the same personality type as the wife as well. They have 3 kids so far, a 4.5 year old boy, an almost 2 year old girl, and a 4 month old baby girl! Our son is about to turn 1. We met up at the new Starbucks unknowingly having scheduled out meet up for while they were having the grand opening πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ€£ so we sat outside, which was great cause the kids could run around freely! Then we all startes getting hungry so we went to their house and ordered pizza and kept hanging out. 11am to 5pm, so just shorter than my husband and my first date that was 7h long πŸ˜…πŸ€£ Me and the wife and fun, the men had fun, and at least it seemed our son and their older daughter had fun! She kept practicing giving him his toy if he dropped it πŸ€—πŸ‘Ά
I dreamt last night that our road got grated and smoothed out so we could lesave the normal way instead of needing to go an extra hour or something. Then when we left this morning, a tracktor or whatever was working on the worst secton, which was GREAT! We could use the actual normal road and not some random wash 🀣πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³
Sometimes I think it will be easier to write something using my laptop, but then I realize it doesn't have autocorrect, and thus it's actually gonna be easier with my phone πŸ™„πŸ€£
So, update on the washed out area we live in: We left this morning to clear skys but the road kinda looks like a warzone! We went over multiple washed out sections that we could barely pass, and then we reached a deep wash that's usually smooth on each side, but not this time! We made it down but there was no way we'd make it up the now super steep other side in our low prius! So we drove down the wash following someone else's tracks. It was super wide and mostly dry but a little soft. We passed a truck that was sunk into the dirt seemingly some of the entire tires! We then went done a thinner road/wash but had to turn around and go back cause it got way too rough! Then we tried going next to the sunk vehicle and that actually worked! And someone else had driven there too so we could tell if the ground was softer in any spot! Then we got back to the road, decided to just skip the corner where 3 floods merge just in case, and I'm glad we did cause it was still a deep mud bath as we passed on the dry inner corner πŸ˜… The particleboard we used to get through the other deep wash the other day were still there! So that's made it a bit easier, though they looked driven on for sure! So, going home we didn't enter from that direction at all and went straight to the back entrance we used the other night. It took like another hour but way less potential damage to our car, so that's a relief! I like adventure, but I like the adventure of driving through a paved neighborhood and looking at houses, not extreme sports kind of adventure! I don't wanna risk my life, or our car!
In America it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. However, they still arrest and put people in jail, and only let them out if they pay bail money, that the courts then hold usually until the trial, unless theres a motion and everyone agrees to give it back early because they don't think they need a financial incentive to force the "innocent" person to show up to court. Oh, now to mention the fact that it easily drags on for months and months, forcing said innocent person to follow their release conditions which can include not leaving the state, no weapons, and no alcohol, even if the "crime" they've been accused of had nothing at all to do with any of those things! Or they get the innocence person to agree to a deal where they basically say that they are guilty at least in part without the state ever having to prove anything, but people often agree just to get them off their back, even if they don't really understand the real life consequences of taking that deal! Yet they are supposed to be INNICENT until proven guilty! Not held in the grey zone until proven guilty or innocent.
Well, we were all napping and then woke up to ... RAIN?!?!?!?! 😱πŸ₯΄πŸ˜– It didn't last long but we are so over this now! We've considered moving to a state with snow but shoveling doesn't sound like fun (I grew up with 6 months of snow so I'd know!) But I'd take snow over this muddy washout season any day! Wanna help us spread the word of our books so we can go buy something for cash in a different state?!?! πŸ˜ƒ (we don't do debt if we can avoid it!) FikaTimeBooks.com
Pretty sure I never wrote this cause I wanted to tell my hubby first but he was napping, but yesterday our son walked for a few steps all by himself!! πŸ₯³ We have two big diaper boxes next to each other as a block/place for him to stand against. He was standing holding one of them, then turned towards the middle of the room started walking, let go of the box, turned in a little loop and walked back to the other box, hands free!!! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ and he didn't fall on his butt at all!!! And the look on his face was priceless!!! He was so happy and proud of himself! πŸ₯°πŸ₯³πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯³
Story time: πŸ˜… So, yesterday we got out before the rain started because we needed to start making some money, and we were getting close to out of food! At the end of our property is a wash, and that area was still muddy from last flood 2 days prior so even though I had build up and reduced the grading of that section, we sunk deeper than our clearance so we had to dig ourselves out just to leave. The rest of the road into town was relatively dry, but there were definitely more washes across it! It never rained in town, but it was supposed to rain around 5pm, and apparently it had! Route 66 next to our land had been flooded to the point where big pieces of pavement had broken free and gotten destroyed so they closed the road. When we got there at around 10:30pm, the road was still closed so we tried going our normal way more, but reached the corner where 3 floods meet and half the road still had water on it! It wasn't running anymore, but it was definitely still very wet! We tried going up on the side and around the inner corner *yes they just cut the road down into the ground more and more as they fix the wash boarding! However, 2 cars were already stuck ahead of us, so hubby walked the land to see if there was anywhere that was dryer, but when he came back he told me that even if he found one spot, the rest of the way seemed kinda sketchy and he wasn't sure we'd even make it down to the road! Not to mention the fact that the road seemed to have gotten fully flooded at lease in one section rather than just the one side like it's often been. So we tried leaving, but oh, that wasn't as easy as just to go! There is a wash we need to pass and it had washed away the bottom so there was kind of a lip and then a muddy dip before going up the other side. We kinda flew over it on our way there so we weren't about to try that again kn the other direction! So we went back and considered if maybe there was a way passed the stuck cars at which point one of them got loose and went to the wash. Then we gave up on that direction and went back towards the wash and met up with that newly freed car. Them and I'm guessing their friends on the other side (there were a lot more people and vehicles than had left that stuck section) they were trying to close that section and someone found some big particleboard or something so they put those pieces across that muddy section, and then they sent it! Oh, and while they were figuring that whole thing out, we ate our ice cream for dinner, cause that needed to be eaten πŸ˜…πŸ€— After they tried it, we went as well and it was a little sketch but we made it back out! πŸ₯³ Then we went and hubby chatted with the guy on 66 blocking the closed road and that's when we found out about the fact that the road had washed away some and they needed to repave it and they'd been there since around 5pm! It was now around midnight! So we went to a gas station and I cleaned out the eggs that we had that had cracked when we went over that bumpy wash going into the dirt and flood area! I think only 4 eggs had broken so not all were casualties! πŸ€— Then we went back to the blocked road, went to the other side of the intersection where people had parked for the night, waiting for the road to open. We tried sleeping in the front seats but I have a carseat behind my seat so I had very limited leaning ability! I may have slept for about an hour when I woke up around 1:30 in discomfort and saw some vehicles with equipment leaving the closed road, but the block was still there! Then I moved the carseat, got our son out of it, and leaned by seat back and then finally i was able to relax some. Oh, and I needed to pee again around this time πŸ˜¬πŸ˜… Then I fell asleep until about 3:30am when I started seeing some movement. The vehicle that had blocked the road looked like it left and some of the cars around us started turning on their engines! I turned and saw how at least one of them was blinking left, the direction the closed road had been, so I said kinda quietly, "I think the road is open" and my hubby woke up and heard me and got up! I then put the carseat back and out our son in it and then went back to the front seat with my hubby and then we left. We drove for a but and then came to warning construction signs. Something like, "No road markings for the next X miles", "reduced speed ahead", and such. Well, we didn't see any new pavement, but the road was covered in clay and we slid some even at 35mph so the reduced speed was a great idea! Then we found the northern entrance to our side of the tracks, which is all dirt but is a legit road under the train tracks! Unlike last time we tried going home that way and it was all dry there, this time that section was wet. It wasn't washed out but had clearly had some water on it! The closer we got to our area, the worse the streams across the washes were, but nothing too bad. We made it all the way back so we could see our place. However, instead of risking trying to go up that section we had needed to dig ourselves out of when we left before the rain, we decided to pre dig the top layer of that mud out of the way. Unlike the other day when everything flooded, it didn't seem like out section of land really flooded, as the boards outside our motorhome were still in place, and they move with the smallest amount of water cause they're lose short wooden boards! (Yeah, I ran home and used the bathroom before helping hubby with the digging!) So we cleared some of that and then hubby felt more comfortable trying it with the car. We also went to the side of the normal road where all the thick mud was that we sunk into when we left was, and it seemed was more solid on the side! We made it all the way home πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ We had our "dinner" at around 4:30am, and saw the sun coming up! Then I crawled up and slept until past 10am when hubby brought our son over. Now it's mostly clear skys here so that is great! πŸ˜…πŸ€—πŸ₯³ Thanks for reading! Hope you're having a great day!πŸ€—
