Just came across a post staying, "things a good husband does without being asked", πŸ™„ wow, whomever wrote that loves codependence! The reality is, you get what you ask for! If you want a healthy marriage, you make deals and verbalize what you want! You don't expect the other person to read your mind, or to do things for you that you haven't asked for. Share why you want them to do it and what it contributes to you, and they're way more likely to want to help you get what you want. Unverbalized expectations are almost guaranteed to lead to heart ache and conflict in the long run. I learned some great techniques on how to do this practically from Alison Armstrong, and added it in our book, "How to Prepare Yourself for Marriage", because all the good tools you learn before you're married can be used directly once you're married, instead of needing to try to figure them out as you go! πŸ€—
I saw somewhere that at around when kids turn 1 it's a good time to start reducing their use of a pacifier. Well, our son only started using one recently, but he doesn't use it like other kids! To him, it's a chew toy! And he'll be biting all the different angles of it, not just the part that usually goes in the mouth. I'll be letting him keep it! πŸ€£πŸ‘Ά
We were watching some episodes of Reacher yesterday and I was having quite the paradoxical experience! On the screen, Reacher was fighting some dude in a subway platform and grabbed his hand and held it out when the train came by and then they both flipped in a twist and flew to the ground. Behind us, our son walked around and leaned on our shoulders and laughing a ton! It reminded me of the contrast in Korean shows! 🀣
My son put his thumb in my nostril, laughed a ton, then put it in my mouth πŸ™„πŸ₯΄πŸ‘Ά Welcome to motherhood 🀣🀣🀣
I wanna write something none baby related... but I've got nothing! πŸ˜… Well, I guess the question is, is a 1 year old still a baby, or had he upgraded to toddler? Or is that once they walk and talk on their own?

Our son just got his first cake... and he cried when we brought it over. No he wasn't afraid of the fire on the candle, though it may have appeard so, he was just really hungry and it had taken TOO LONG! He got happy when we had been with him for a few seconds and then he seemed to enjoy the flames too... and sticking his fingers in the whipped cream πŸ˜ŽπŸ€£πŸ‘Ά Then hubby held him and fed him his first bite and he liked it! πŸ₯°πŸ₯³πŸ‘Ά Then he rejected the cake for Daddy's burrito, and then I had a burrito and when his dad tried to give him another bite, he ignored it as he stared at my burrito, as if to say, "Nah that's okay dad, you can keep yours, I'll just have mom's!" 😱🀣🀣🀣

I asked my son to come over for a diaper change... he looked down and touched the diaper currently on him, looked back at me with a huge smile and quickly proceeded to crawl in the opposite direction. πŸ€£πŸ‘Ά Looked back at me and I asked him to come again and hehid happily behind his dad! 🀣🀣🀣 He did eventually come out and let meclean him off... but before I had a chance to close the new diaper, he was done and started turning to crawl away again πŸ™„πŸ€£ I guess he's 1 now and doesn't need diapers anymore πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ™„

I'm making a cake for our son cause there has to be cake on his birthday! I don't have any conventional baking thinks like a mixer, round cake pans, or an oven, but using a square glass pan, fork, and toaster oven is working out great! 😎 I'm a bit less excited about needing to hand whisk whipped cream though! Maybe hubby will wake up by then so he can assist me a bit with his big man muscles πŸ€”πŸ₯° @LeviJohnson.net

Training a child in autonomy is very different than leaving a child to fend for themselves, or letting them run rampant. Training a child in autonomy means training them in making decisions for themselves, believing that they are powerful and treating them like such, while also training the in knowing that other people are also powerful, and respecting their own and other people's boundaries. It means skipping all the "because I said so", or "you should just obey me because I'm an adult," which actually trains people in becoming sheep, easily lead to the slaughter.

Just had another person go "I'll take him", as she left... Yeah, I believe you, which is why we're keeping an eye on him! Is this normal for all babies, or does our son have some extra attraction thing on him where everyone seems to want to take him home?! No! No, he will NOT be going home with you! He'll be coming home with US!!! His parents! 😳 In Sweden it's very common to leave babies unattented in strollers ourside of restaurants and churches for up to 2 hours while they nap... I won't be leaving our son unattended in America for a minute! 😡

I needed a break from picking up toys/running interferance from my son touching his dad's laptop, so now he’s on my shoulders with a piece of bread, I think. Well, it just started raining bread crumbs so I think he still has it then! 🀣🀣🀣 oh, his dad just came back and then went to fill his cup and then our son leaned down and laughing started trying to feed me the piece of bread... first in my nose crevice, and then in the corner of my eye, so yes, he definatly still had the bread! 🀣🀣🀣 I love being a mom!

Our son was crawling around the car with us and then I saw something in his mouth! I got it out and it was a piece of lettuce... but we didn't have lettus in anything we've eaten in here so I'm not sure where or how he got it! Maybe it fell off some delivery hubby did yesterday πŸ€”πŸ˜…πŸ˜¬πŸ€£πŸ‘Ά

Earlier today I said something about not having been so smart about something, and my hubby asked me to not call myself stupid. Eh, I wasn't calling myself stupid! I was simply saying that I was had operated at 98% instead of 100% awesome smarts! That is not the same as stupid 😎🀣🀣🀣
