Today is my dad's birthday! Most of my life, he's claimed to be 17, which got a bit awkward when I turned 18 πŸ€”πŸ€£ My mom and I wondered if maybe he finally turned 18 when the government started paying him retirement money, but we weren't sure if it stuck or not. Well, he was born in 1953, and today he told me he turned 37! 🀯πŸ₯³πŸ€— It only took 19 years, but my dad is finally older than me again 🀣🀣🀣🀣 I love my family! πŸ₯° we know how to have fun!
So, our son has just I formed me that next time we go to In-n-out, he'll want his own burger.... Babies are cheap until they start wanting to eat normal food! πŸ˜¬πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ‘Ά
"Why are you talking about taking my baby from me as a good thing? I love having my baby in my arms and figuring out how to do tasks while still snuggling." - Me when our son met the rest of the family for the first time. If they wanted to hold him, I was totally fine with that, but when phrased as "helping me out", that didn't work for me, cause it just wasn't true. There was one time when he had puked on me and I needed to wash the skirt of my dress in a public sink that was est really far in that what looked like a teenager asked if she could help somehow, and I asked if she could hold my son, since getting to the water with my dress was nearly impossible on my own, and while also balancing a baby wasn't really gonna get the job done. But if it's just getting food, I'm good! 🀣
Well that didn't work πŸ™„ I covered my eyes and a fly touched my lips! So I covered my whole face! Then as I finally started drifting again, the fly started touching my arm, multiple times and I tried to cover myself but clearly not enough! Now I want a snack! πŸ˜… View quoted note β†’
Hubby and son woke up before 6am.... I tried going back to sleep but as soon as I started drifting, pur son started whining πŸ™„ Now he's having a nap, and I'm on Nostr.... I should probably take the opportunity to put my phone down and close my eyes! πŸ€”πŸ€£πŸ˜΄
Yesterday was the first day when it finally got cool enough to open the windows to vent I stead of needing to use the AC already by 8 or 9 am! It's 10am now and the air from the windows are still pleasant! Supposed high of 88 today! Maybe we are starting to get a little bit of fall here too after all!!! πŸ€―πŸ€—πŸ₯³
I'm glad we got home when we did yesterday, cause a dust and wind storm came, so we quickly got everything out of the car, then basically took two breaths inside and started unloading the groceries when the kitchen roof skylight/vent flew off! Hubby went outside and found it and went up on the roof to put it back, and I secured it with a hanger, but only on one side as that's the only place that had something to secure it to. Then the wind picked up again and started lifting the other side, and as I grabbed at it, it still somehow managed to put itself free from the hanger and flew back down, this time cracking it, so hubby went up on the roof again and put something else over the hole with a couple or pavers on top of it to weigh it down so the wind couldn't toss that too! We'd considered leaving for a week earlier that day, but I'm glad we stayed home cause it rained a little last night, and that would have gone straight inside had hubby not covered the hole! And who knows how much other stuff could have gotten in if we were gone for over a week!
Gas station observation: One car starts honking a lot and the car pulling out stopped and a guy turns and the two men communicate, then the guy in the leaving car gets out and picks up his phone from the roof of his car! Sometimes honking is very appreciated!!! πŸ˜…πŸ€— that could have been very bad! And sad!
In case you didn't know. If you take someone on a first date, and for any reason don't want to go on a second date, you don't need to give them a reason. Simply thank them for their time and let them know that you're not interested in going out again. It doesn't matter if it's a petty reason like they wore the wrong kind of orange nailpolish, as in not the Bitcoin Orange, or if it's serious like their stance on the Clancey trial. There's more than enough people out there, and the faster you sort, the faster you'll meet someone whom you actually wanna keep dating for the rest of your life! If you want to know how to intentionally date, check out "How to Prepare Yourself for Marriage" at or email me at fikatimebooks.com@mailfence.com if you wanna get a PDF for 10k sats.
I've been letting our son help me with Duolingo for about a month now. He was walking away when he heard a duo sound so he turned around and came back. It was his dad doing it instead of me this time. Earlier today I did it, and there's one exercise that has 4 pictures showing and it makes the sound as well as has the word I'm looking for written out. Our son clicked on the correct picture before pressing the next button! I was shocked and impressed and a little suspicious, like, did he just press something or did he know?? Then he did it correctly again! Then I got it a 3rd time, and he started by pointing his finger and poking at the screen on the correct one, but it didn't quite take and then his finger migrated to the right and when it did select it, it was the wrong one, and then he turned his head and managed to press next with his forehead 🀣 Now I wanna keep testing him! Maybe with English words instead of Korean πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£
Lumen just wrote a post for our website, where he answered the question "How do you overcome the fear of commitment?" by pulling quotes from our book, "How to Prepare Yourself for Marriage", and I'm really impressed! He did a really good job answering the question! If you wanna read the post, here's a link to it on our website! πŸ€— https://fikatimebooks.wpcomstaging.com/category/answered-needs/
What are some cultural differences you noticed between yourself and your spouse after you got married? Family culture can also be a cultural difference.
Our son got into the trash the other day and we thought we had cleaned it all up. Well, today I just caught our son with not one, but two burnt garlic cloves in his mouth! Apparently we had missed some, cause those were in that trash! Now I smell burnt garlic on my fingers, and his breath! I only held them for a few seconds!!! πŸ˜–πŸ€£
If we're all hanging out on the bed and my husband gets up and goes into the kitchen, our son very quickly follows him! Sometimes he only manages to get off the bed before his dad is back, but he still really want to go see what he's dad is gonna do! It's so sweet πŸ₯°πŸ‘Ά He'll go out there if I go too, sometimes, but just now, i went out and he stayed with his dad, but as soon as his dad got up, he did too! @LeviJohnson.net is awesome, so I get it! πŸ₯°
I finally set up an email for our books. Nostr DMs can be so fickle! Hubby's working on our ebooks selling directly through our website but until that works, or if you'd prefer, you can now email me at fikatimebooks.com@mailfence.com if you wanna buy a book for sats! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰
