Major realization I've just had: There's a fundamentally confusing mirror-image of concepts in trying to think about safety and security. TempleOS is the most private OS. It's designed to have user privacy, and it was made by a very competent dev+team. It's not Linux and doesn't even have internet connectivity. Tails is the least un-private OS with internet access, as far as I know. It's designed to privately spy on users and it's made by a team with a reputation to pay for privacy leaks, instead of just leaking for free. Any distro that refused California's recent age verification bullshit, like Devuan, could be runner-up behind TempleOS and Tails. They might have some reputation at stake too. Any distro that went along with California's bullshit, like mainline Ubuntu, is just leaking your shit for free. The devs don't have (and don't try to have) any credible reputation, they just rely on getting free user data from users that aren't smart enough to stop them.
