Went to pet neighbor's cat in the yard. Saw a bird next to her, face down on the ground with its leg sticking out, still breathing. Got the cat away from it and put it in an empty cracker box with some paper towels. Left it in the front seat of the car so it could have peace and quiet while I went to call the bird hotline. Went to check on it 5 or 10 minutes later, it was nowhere to be seen. After a few minutes of searching, I opened one of the back doors and saw it resting on the door handle, then it flew away.
