This is sad and Davie504 has one of the best YouTube music channels out there.
In #V4V music we've gotten pushback because "artists can't just give their music away for free and need protections" maybe but protection from what? A system that doesn't care about them? Being in control of your content seems like great protection to me. Want your music taken down? Just take it off of where you host it and podcastindex will stop showing it in searches since it will 404. I've seen this happen a few times. A V4V album doesn't play anymore and when I reach out the artists says "yeah I was just trying it out and I'm going some other route instead now". Awesome and that's for checking this all out.
What if we just share music freely and see what happens.
If you're someone that just wants your music to be heard by people I think V4V is perfect and really the only downside is that it's a small community still but it's not going to build itself.
Listeners can even send you Value back with sats or even something like PayPal right in the app so the money part is also solved.
