How about a little break from fiat world craziness. Check out this old silo I found in the woods. #grownostr #getoutside #touchgrass #ruralruins
T-Minus 11 days until my hunting trip. Pretty much have my haversack items squared away. image Shelter, clothing and food items will get dropped once we set up base camp, but this is my basic gear that I will always be carrying. #grownostr #outdoorgear #hunting #getoutside #edcstr
Peaceful, contemplative fall evening here tonight. Using brass, brier, and flame to summon smoke from leaf. image Cornell and Diehl Awakened Elder (Latakia, Kasturi, Virginias, Burley, Perique, and Black Cavendish) In a T. Cristiano bent Dublin #grownostr #pipestr #tobacco #zippo
My #proofofwork for this evening. Moved the cattle to the next pasture. image Here's a trick I use often. If your cattle are trained to electric fence, it's a psychological barrier not a physical one. Therefore, you can string up any white rope (white because I use white poly wire for temporary fencing) and use it fill a gap and funnel them where you want them to go. Like here, the lane is 20 feet wide, but the gate is only 16 feet. The rope is just loosely tied in place to create the illusion of a fence so the cattle will turn through the gate. image If you aggressively pressure them and jam a whole crowd against the barrier, one will push through and the illusion will be broken, but if you let them file through at their own pace, works great. #grownostr #farmstr #beef
Best Bushcraft channel on YouTube. And a good, relaxing video to watch after a long day, in fact, probably the next best thing to going outside and touching grass yourself. #grownostr #getoutside #outdoorskills
Good morning After at least a month and a half with basically no rain, we've had about 4 inches in the last 36 hours. image Several projects to get done today... But first, let the ground dry out a bit. #gm #grownostr #edcstr #farmstr

Rainy Saturday morning project. Made a bamboo trekking pole. image Materials: stick of bamboo, mule tape, copper pipe caps, bank line, clear epoxy Weight is a bit over 9 ounces (I made a pair a couple years ago, but I had a better piece of bamboo, so I'm replacing the smaller diameter one of the old pair. The dirty one pictured has been used on two backcountry hunts and performed excellent ly.) #grownostr #outdoorgear #proofofwork

Good morning. Moved the cows to the next pasture and ready to start the rest of my Saturday projects. image #grownostr #farmstr #beef #proofofwork
Ordered an alcohol stove for my hunting trip. Came with a folding steel windscreen/pot stand. image It was just an inexpensive model from Amazon, so I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. But I ended up being fairly impressed after testing it out. image Boiled a can of soup in about seven minutes. image Worked well enough that I grabbed the small cast iron, pulled an onion from the garden, gathered the eggs, and cooked a bit of dinner. image #grownostr #getoutside #outdoorgear
