Over on the “other” bird platform, half of all tweets are just pysops trying to trick you into clicking on the header or profile picture of an account. The most moronic way of engagement farming, driven by a predatory algorithm that only has one purpose: Make you a braindead consumer. Tell your normie friends to opt out before it’s too late.

The last independent English-language news outlet still operating in Hong Kong, HKFP, was subjected to an audit by the territory’s tax authority that lastet two years and covered seven years of business. The audit “uncovered” ~US$390 in discrepancies, for which HKFP paid ~US$7,300 in fines. Absolutely ridiculous.

Real cars have steel wheels.
Making Arkade payments at DCTRL. Natively and through a Lightning swap. Pretty smooth!

Pretty cool seeing Lightning and Spark payments alongside each other at DCTRL’s Bepsi machine. So far, Lightning is the superior UX, as payments are faster. But what’s the technical reason for this?

Much of what’s being released in Bitcoin right now boils down to “plausible self-sovereignty as a service.”
Magical fall

Late night vibes

Afternoon walk to the market, buying fish and meat. What a life

Bitrefill is now marking some gift cards up by 7% and more. They are hiding this fee in the exchange rate. It only applies to some cards, but all payment methods, so do watch out!
Nationstates are stacking Bitcoin, treasury companies are trending, fund mangers break records with ETF listings, the dollar is melting, nobody is buying treasuries, stocks are booming and the world is heading into a devastating recession.
Every night I sleep sound knowing that absolutely none of this can affect the Bitcoin price.
Do the ends justify the memes?
Posting from #NostrHackday Berlin because I can.

Remnants of the telecom age. Totem poles of a lost civilization.

This post was made from a Tollgate Wi-Fi hotspot, paid with ecash from the Coinos mint. The cypherpunk future is now.

In 1948/49 the Soviet Union blockaded West Berlin, demanding the withdrawal of the newly introduced Deutsche Mark. For over a year the city had to be supplied with energy and food with only planes like this, called “Rosinenbomber” or “Candy Bombers.” Good money is worth fighting for.

This incredible display board was originally built for Vienna airport and decommissioned ten years ago. Its new host, pub Friedel Richter in Berlin, also runs their own Lightning node and processes payments using LNbits. Also, they serve excellent food.

Also, huge thanks to Eric Chennels for adding convenient copy buttons to the guides!

Exactly 200 years ago today the first public railway line opened in Shildon, Durham County. The station is still in use today! Locomotion No. 1, the engine pulling the train, was built by George and Robert Stephenson and is preserved at the Darlington Railway Centre. It cost £550.
