Opportunity cost browser extension + bank website. Kinda humorous to me.

While watching @RABBIT HOLE RECAP today I couldn't help but think that maybe @Fabian should get the Open Water domain from @ODELL for @Nostur? It would be a good client name. ๐
Spent waaaay to long trying to re-find that part in the conversation today... still failed. I couldn't remember the exact domain extension,. com?. The Youtube doesn't let you search words in the transcripts! Another missed opportunity by Google for Search. (Not surprised at all).

If anyone is looking at getting a Bitcoin node setup, I would suggest looking at refurbished Dell Optiplex Micro computers. They sell for really cheap now that windows 10 is done and most don't support windows 11. ๐คฎ
You can get them with 8GB RAM and a 250GB SSD for around $200 (CAD) (7050). Throw in a 2 TB NVMe (M.2) drive in it and you're ready to install node software that wants two drives like @npub1r29m...23pd or @Umbrel โ๏ธ.
You can install @Start9 as well, but I believe it only supports one drive (dont see an option for a second in my test rig) so everything would go on on the 2 TB drive.
I like the first two options because the OS goes on the smaller drive and all the data (wallet, timechain and lightning channels) goes on the 2 TB drive. If the OS drive blows up, you just reflash the OS drive and continue on (after a small catch-up sync of the timechain).
I prefer the Micro version of the Optiplex, since it barely takes up any space, but there are SFF and desktop size versions as well.
Far superior to running a Pi and about the same price.

Anyone have a higher quality version of this?

A few days ago a few buddies and I linked two small cities and a small town together with #meshtastic nodes. Initially we added a node in the middle and got a link between all three. Then I moved a node up the tower on my end and replaced the antenna (with a smaller cheaper one ๐) and surprisingly ended up getting a fairly solid direct connection to the other city ~70 km away! When the direct connection doesn't hit then the linked connection works.
Had a few hills to get over and found a great spot, been discussing link for a few months. Now to optimise hops and figure out if router mode would benefit anything.
