I just watched Margin Call for the first time while on a flight. I had never before experienced such a feeling of the inevitably of the plane crashing. I feel deeply disturbed right now. The really scary thing is you know this sort of shit goes on each and every day, that there is another inevitable cataclysmic event on the horizon and that 99% of people have no fucking clue what’s coming. Over 1/3 of my time was robbed from me last year. They call it tax. This was even after the legitimate and legal deductions I made within the framework of their system. I’ve read a lot of investing books, I lost count around the 60 mark… And I’ve got to say, one of the best books I ever read was circa 2019 for me and it was written by none other than @preston It was called the Warren Buffet Accounting Book. It was one of the most comprehensive books to lay out a value investing framework aswell as the authors best estimate on what Discounted Cash Flow model the great investor Warren Buffet may deploy when valuing a stock. @preston rarely talks about his books but having written a book myself, I deeply respect the hustle this gentleman has put into everything he touches. He taught me much more about myself than he taught me about investing. It was this DCF modelling that eventually lead me to realise just how drastically overvalued EVERYTHING was and what ultimately lead me down the rabbit hole to learn about money. Forever grateful to you sir. Needless to say my new hurdle rate is much higher than the “risk free rate of return” I was comparing against in 2019. Onwards

Just picked up a new rig for picking up gigs on the road. A Yamaha stagepas 1k. Set it up today and had a strum. Impressive bit of kit. In fact I like it better then my old rig (msr400s) and think I might be able to ditch my xr12 mixer too. I’ll probably downsize my pedal board too. Even better, it actually fits under the kids bunk bed in the van. Income stream #1 sorted with life-in-the-road

Happy Father’s Day to all the Aussie dads out there. The hustle is noticed and appreciated by all those around you. It’s traditionally our job to provide and to protect. Society is bastardising masculinity and downplaying the role of strong men in the family unit. To them I say “fuck you”. We work hard, we provide and we protect and to me there is no finer duty or purpose. It is what I was put on this earth to do.

Who would be interested in following our little families travel plans and travel-schooling journey here on NOSTR? We will be pulling our 2 x boys out of school for 2025. Year 6 (11) and year 3 (8). 7 months full time on the road, travel schooling travelling g to coast of Australia. Then a further 5months living out of the van while I return to the fiat mines temporality) l. Happy to document and share the journey exclusively on NOSTR if enough are interested.

Sometimes I like to do some simple calculations and let my mind explode as to what wealth and abundance I’ve been able to create for my family. E.g if you managed to stack 0.5BTC you are in the richest 42,000,000 in the entire world. There will never be and can never be more people with more Bitcoin. A finitely scarce monetary asset that is seeing global adoption each and every day. All you have to do is HODL while it absorbs the monetary premium of every other asset and every other good.
