Now is a great chance to consolidate your UTXOs in order to reduce your future on-chain fees and keep the UTXO set lean for node operators, which helps the Bitcoin network stay decentralized!

My TL;DR from TAB Conf: We're gearing up for a Bitcoin Cambrian explosion in regards to off-chain protocols, privacy improvements, and overall squeezing every last bit of data off of the blockchain. Absolutely mind-blowing stuff happening. A lot likely won't hit mainnet for the next 5-10 years. But it's coming...

Bitcoin's price dip has lowered profitability of mining considerably, bringing even the most efficient miners down to mere pennies a day given typical commercial electricity costs. Yet we're looking at a 7+% difficulty increase. Not entirely sure why people are plugging in their miners, but this feels very bullish!

Wasn't sure if a time lapse while walking would be too shaky, but this turned out really cool!

Is anyone looking into using Nostr for internet-of-things? What if you had smart home devices (lights, locks, safes, cameras, etc...) that each had their own Nostr keypair, knew your Nostr public key, and could receive commands and return data such as a message ack or even a picture from your smart camera using a wrapper around DMs? I think that could be really powerful for making smart devices that are actually secure.

Having a phone number is all but a necessity in today's world. Many internet services require you to have one for 2-step verification. Messaging apps such as Signal, Telegram, and WhatsApp require one as your account identifier. In many ways it's it's your centralized fiat personal identifier. Yet the level of security and privacy is laughable. Texts and calls are easily tapped and traced. Your location is viewable 24/7 by those "in charge". Not to mention how easy it is to perform a whole cornucopia of SIM attacks. This is legacy technology. And Nostr can fix it! Your keypair is your phone number for the 21 century. I'm excited to see an OAuth/OpenID-like spec for Nostr and for phone numbers to go the way of the dollar.
