Simple joys as a child that I've kept through adulthood. 1. Listening to the rain when tucked up in bed. 2. Seeing families waiting with Welcome home signs at airports. 3. Puppies. 4. Smell of Fresh Grass. 5. Christmas Eve (Childhood magic replaced by seeing the joy of your own kids magic) 6. My parents telling me they love me and or are proud of me. 7. Waking up to snow (when you don't need to get anywhere) 8. A Gene Kelly musical 9. Radiator pants 10. Building sandcastles on the beach What a blessed life. I hope yours is filled with joy. 🙌🏼🧡

At a kids party and telling parents we don't eat seed oils. Because my daughter is not used to the type of food on offer and asking me what she can eat. I'm used to this look 🤨 But quite surprised how many people haven't been down that rabbit hole. Plenty of Dairy free, Gluten free families not worried about the colouring or canola oil but I'm the weird one for wanting butter and real ingredients. 🤔 Maybe we just shouldn't socialise 😂

If Bitcoin wasn't around I think I'd have a constant nervous twitch. How do Normie Mums navigate this world without the warm orange glow of a Bitcoin Hug? 🧡🤗

I think i'm going to sell boxes of just red felt tips. Maybe a box of black ones too. For a family of colour-in-ers it's very frustrating that these always run out first. Sigh. Life can be so hard sometimes. 🖍️

Onboarded a new business in @npub1wzry...pmh9 A hotel called Browns Boutique. Next time you're in Queenstown New Zealand you can stay with your sats. And they have B pillows, it was obviously meant to be?

It does seem that Bitcoin is a predominately male space. My husband was talking for Bitcoin for ages before I even turned my head. It's organic and should be, I'm not pushing for DEI but why do we think this is? Im definitely having a lot of conversations with women who are interested, so either they seem me as approachable or things are changing. 🤔

Why do so many Bitcoiners love Steak? 🥩 Do we just know a good thing when we see it? I eat mine Blue with half its weight in butter. 👌🏼 image

Anyone else struggle to talk Bitcoin with friends and family? The conversation always goes: “Yeah cool Nell, just flick it through… I’ll take a look when I get a sec.” Listen Bob, I’m not trying to sell you anything. I don’t earn commission on your freedom. It makes zero difference to my life if you choose to stay in the fiat rat race instead of finding a way out for you and your kids. SIGH. But I won’t give up on you, Bob. Because I love you. image

Rocked up to school pick up and got asked who Satoshi Nakamoto is. Don't worry Team, I didn't reveal a thing!!! 🤐 I gotta say it was a fun conversation for sure. That started with one parent and ended up with about six. I have 'Normie' millennial mums on the daily asking me about Bitcoin. A sign of change (cool hat by @BitcoinMagazine) image

My five year old son slept past 9am today. His friend's mum was concerned when I told her we wouldn't make the school walk. I'm not, he's a growing boy and sleep is the key to his body growing strong and healthy. Normalising dragging kids out of bed to get to school is not healthy. I'm just thankful that I have the ability to let him sleep. Sleep on my boy. 🧡 image

My mum messaged me to tell me off for looking so cross in parliament and "unapproachable" Well Mum… maybe I’m a bit pissed off about the broken money system. Maybe I’m tired of watching inflation eat away at people’s savings. Maybe just maybe it’s hard seeing my millennial friends bust their guts and still not be able to afford a home for their families?! Or even choosing not to have families at all!!!!!!!!! But if you think I actually said any of that to my mother… you clearly don’t know her. I just said: “Yes Mum.” 🙃

At the Meet Up stall in Vegas anyone who represented a community from around the world put a little sticker on their location. New Zealand was not only tucked away down the bottom, it was hidden behind the team's coats and bags! They didn't even realise they were covering up a country! New Zealand, as beautiful and wonderful as it is has so often been overlooked by the rest of the world. We are changing that, @thebitcoinbasin is putting New Zealand firmly on the @btcmap through @lightningpaynz Through our community efforts and out reach the world will know where we are. More than that, they will come here to connect, network and spend their #sats with our local kiwi owned businesses. They will be blown away by the beauty of our country, they will make life long memories and friends. New Zealand will be stamped on their passports and in their hearts 🧡 Next year will be different, mark my words ⚡️ #bitcoinnewzealand #bitcointowns #bitcoinmeetups #bitcoin2025 image

I always felt too stupid to ask questions. Now I do nothing but ask questions. I have realised that intellect is blinding. Quite happy to feel my way and own my capabilities.🙏🏻🧡 God bless you all.

Nothing to see here. Just a group of Bitcoiners in Parliament. Clearing up misconceptions, demoing Lightning transactions in real time, and opening up dialogue between policymakers and the Bitcoin community. ⚡🇳🇿 Carry on. image

The Bitcoin Miner that made history in New Zealand.. 🇳🇿⚡️ Rob Clarkson flew it from The Bitcoin Basin in Queenstown up to Wellington. Then got it through security. Which went a little something like👇🏻 👮🏽‍♂️Guard - "Hey, what do you have here?" 🧙🏼‍♂️Rob - "A Bitcoin Miner.." Pause... 👮🏽‍♂️Guard - "Oh right, erm ok good" . . Then, plugged it in. ⚡️ image

Exciting to be a part of this moment with @bitcoinpolicynz Yesterday we presented to a room of 20+ members of the New Zealand Coalition MPs. A great presentation delivered by @r0bertclarkson - An expert in breaking down Bitcoin for all levels, particularly in a very limited time. The success was apparent by the amount of time the MPs stuck around afterwards to dive deeper - genuinely interested to learn more. Rob also brought a Bitcoin miner along, it was fun to watch security scan it and ask what it was. This must be a first?! Surely! We spoke about how @TheBitcoinBasin is growing through transactional spending through @lightningpaynz . Empowering our local businesses and strengthening our communities. We emphasised the importance of not letting NZ get left behind. All MPs walked away with a copy of The Bitcoin Standard by @saifedean and a link to "What's the problem" by @satmojoe Great questions, surprising in fact. The tide is shifting. They can't ignore what Bitcoin is, nor its potential any longer. #bitcoinnewzealand image

Last night we hosted our first Merchants Night in Queenstown at The Bitcoin Basin. A gathering of business owners already accepting Bitcoin and others ready to onboard. It was lovely to see so many people come along on a Tuesday night. The energy in the room was great, those new to Bitcoin and others further along their journey. A room full of entrepreneurs, risk takers, business owners the backbone of Queenstown. In a world that’s becoming more digital and disconnected, real human connection matters more than ever. Shaking hands. Making eye contact. Sharing a smile. Bitcoin isn’t just a new way to pay. It’s a tool for self sovereignty. It removes the middlemen, the gatekeepers, the unnecessary fees. It puts power back in the hands of small business owners and everyday people. That’s what The Bitcoin Basin is about. Connection & Community. We’re building a circular economy where businesses support each other directly. Where value stays local. Where we lift each other up, instead of competing against our neighbours. Bitcoin is open source and permissionless. It doesn’t care where you’re from, what you earn, or who you bank with. It gives everyone a fair shot and that’s the same spirit we’re building here. We’re not clinging to broken systems. We’re creating a new one together, from the ground up. We rise by lifting others. That’s the Bitcoin way. image

When I see the examples of how far AI has come I don't feel afraid. I just feel thankful for my personal real relationships and connections. It makes hugs and kisses and handshakes and eye contact so much more important and meaningful. The more AI advances the more important face to face interactions and connections are. We live in this world, this is the one we have. Don't fear it, navigate it. Don't wish for a past time or a different time, embrace the good things - the real things we have. Appreciate the beauty, the human connections and the truth. 🧡 image
