Huge thunderstorm came through last night. Got a bit of lightning and rolling thunder on video! ⛈️ This is around 1:30 am. No correction on the visual: with low storm clouds, the light pollution of the suburbs makes the sky that appear that light. #vidstr #weather #thunderstorm

A friend found a book of vintage flower illustrations that Kew Gardens turned into a grayscale coloring book. Great paper for colored pencils, not great at all if you want to use watercolors, which is my friend’s favorite. So I did a little experiment… Brush the page to color with clear gesso and let dry overnight. The page curled, so use clips to keep flat. Use watercolors and watercolor pencils. Add gold highlights with acrylic marker for fun. Look at back of colored page and be a bit surprised how good it still looks. The clear gesso is rough to work on, but it did what it was supposed to do, so I’ll call this a success. ✅ #art #artstr #artprocess #watercolor #bloomstr #rustypuppyart

While standing out in the backyard enjoying the evening breeze, I saw the Orion constellation just above my roof line. Wondered if any of the stars would show up if I took a photo with my phone. Looks much better than I thought it would! No filter or adjustments, 3 second exposure because that’s what the app had as default. 🌌 #photostr #stars #constellation
