When indoors: Daytime - yellow colored glasses Evening - red colored glasses. These protect your eyes from isolated wavelengths of light (particularly blue) that can mis-cue your body on time of day. When outside don’t wear any sun glasses, unless of course you’re in a high glare environment. You’ll sleep better and fall asleep easier.

Readying for fall goes beyond cozy sweaters and hot drinks. Prepping for winter(time of rest) will make your biology work better for you. Easy ways to get AM cold exposure - colder shower 3min -shorts/commando outside 10min. -of course, getting AM sun is key. Do these to signal to your body that cold seasons are coming and make dietary adjustments as well. Eat local, seasonal - colder temps -> eat closer to the ground (squash, tubers for example) -meats, fats

Costs up on everything and a decrease in value/effort. This is happening in the copper mining and related civil industry. Sure there are shilly consultants and whatnot (big M) but even design companies are giving low level engineering design and behind on everything. I cannot help but think that decades of inflation and poor incentives are coming to roost. They’re expected to work well beyond standard hrs and provide gold standard for cheaper. Rates are coming higher to recoup losses. Client requests also drive this but the ballooning of staff to do work for the same mine tonnage with lower recovery makes production even more critical. Perhaps engineering and mineral extraction can be revived on a bitcoin standard. Value for value.

Key points for training for me: Does the session have a goal that give me goose bumps? Y/N Can I do this outside? Y/N Will I feel better afterwards if either are done Y/N Then it’s a simple choice. :) Hope this helps.

Everything you plan out and work towards has to start with your Goal or Objective. This orients yourself correctly. You know where to start better if you know where you need to go. Also it’s likely that the simplest approach is more sustainable and best to build complexity on. image

Daily reminder: get in nature as best as you can. Yesterday I was out all day fishing and enjoyed every minute of it. The internet can be a powerful substrate for the world but nothing was as grounding as watching nature thru the day during the fall. The world is spectacular.

I used to be adverse to having kids. Thought it was too limiting on my life and interfered with my ‘experience’. Now I have a smile each time I see my wife with our son. You cannot go wrong having this in your life.

You’re still a part of nature no matter how many pieces of tech or modern amenities you have. If you feel tranquil and at peace when in the woods take that as a sign Mother Nature is glad to have you back :)

Something I heard from Dave Tate: instead of calling things goals he calls them objectives. Goals can be kinda vague and thereby limiting. Objectives, I might add, require a strategy to execute for an intended outcome. More specific and easier to hone in on. Also I think easier to adjust to if the strategy and execution become unaligned .
