New to nostr but totally feel at home. Love to learn, love testing and breaking things. Stupid questions incoming. Dad & Plonka. Rational Criticism is the way. Decentralised is the future. Freedom is the goal.

THEY call it Blue Monday - my arse! I'd say it's more of a dull grey, and the concept of an average mood on a particular day, that we all feel is pure bullshit. Life is amazing on all its days and in all its colours, yes it can feel shit at times, but thats life, problems are inevitable and infinitely solvable. And as for societal averages, they can just do one, I sm not an average. Don't let anyone tell you how and when you should feel. Happy Grey Day 🀣✌️ image

The internet, tech, maths, science and so much more are a joy to behold. Yet I often think about the quote below and belive 'surely, it could be a lot easier than this'. image

The British pub is an amazing thing, it can be seen as a stale old traditional institution, but I can tell you, its not, it's actually a vibrant public forum. Come, get mortal, have a cuppa, have one, have ten, sit alone, speak to strangers, entertain us with your small talk, change the world, discuss politics or deep philosophy, argue, fall in love, debate, create, conjure, imagine ideas that would never see the light of day. The British pub is where these can and do come to life, and if nothing else, you can seek refuge, a bag of crisps and refreshment.

Privacy, and there for freedom, does not have an end goal. It's constant.

Bit of a frosty and foggy one this morning, should burn off in an hour and reach a glorious 4c, currently -4c. image

For the non-techies out there who are interested in privacy - I just set up my own custom DNS, it took 10 mins and it was very easy. Check out this guide by @GHOST on how and why to set one up: Otherwise theres a good chance Google will be hoovering up your data.

Hey @GHOST (and nostr) I've been reading your article on setting up NextDNS. 1. If you set it up per device (potentially 7 devices) does it work on the move on public networks etc? (I'm guessing it does) 2. If set up per device, is there any benifit and/or conflicts if its also set up on the router? (I was on the hunt for a pi-hole, until I read the article, now I'm more than happy to set up on cloud). Also, total newb here, bit learning fast so feel free to school/spoon feed me. #nostr #asknostr #privacy #dns
