the other issue is height of center of gravity, which gets higher as you load the truck more. the allowable center of gravity height is up to 70 inches. the truck floor is about 50 inches high and i estimate the center of gravity of empty truck is probably about 50 inches high as well. if you were to load up the truck evenly to the roof and up to the max rating of 33,000 lbs you would go just above 70 inches on COG height. of course that is a highly unrealistic scenario. realistically to push COG above 70 inches you would have to overload the truck. which is another reason why i would rather drive a half-full truck twice than pack one truck to the roof. it will simply be more stable due to lower COG, in addition to not overloading the axles and not increasing braking distance etc. but the main reason is i am simply not good enough with planning to get everything in there the 1st time. i am a worthless loser, i know. the first haul will be mainly to test the waters, to set up base in Orlando and to free up some space in NJ because right now there is so much shit in here i don't even have room to pack.

the other issue is ride quality ... rear axle has auto leveling air suspension while front axle is leaf springs so if i don't fully load the front axle it will be bouncy and thus harsh for me in the cabin ... but the truck does have air ride seat so it would smooth some of that out ... but maybe actually ideal weight distribution in my case of having a low total load is to put more of it towards the front that way front axle is closer to capacity and doesn't bounce as much ... rear axle will simply automatically air down the bags to match the load ... this would produce optimum ride quality but not optimum handling nor braking ... for optimum handling and braking i would have to put the load closer to the rear axle ... sometimes i envy all you retards who never have to think about any of this ...
