The fediverse is already a very fascinating place. I post memes, lukewarm takes, and the occasional news. Check out @lsn@fedi.libresolutions.network which is a passion project of mine. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Pray for Peace

Assuming browsers actually had mainstream support for it, would #IPFS or #Webtorrent be better for displaying large (static) media?

You don't have to convince others. You just have to display your certainty and be willing to elaborate when asked. Arguing doesn't work because it betrays your doubts. Being an approachable resource to others is how you bring people to your side.

I want to nit-pick this. What makes you think having your carrier changing your identifier from "John Smith" to "Teee Hee I'm anonymous ๐Ÿ˜œ" provides meaningful protection from those with the capability of using cell signals for geolocation.NSA: Huh, I wonder who keeps going home to John's house every day. I guess we'll never know ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ image

Despite what one may think about LLMs & social media in general, two concerns come to mind that are worth taking seriously: 1) Excess/Abusive load on smaller instances (It's not like these companies treat archive.org fairly!) 2) There is no guarantee your posts will be represented accurately, opening you up for weird problems later. This means that even "don't post anything you'll regret later" isn't that helpful. #AI #MachineLearning
