The state will absorb most productivity gains from AI by printing more money. The idea of Universal High Income is a fallacy. More money without more real goods and services simply fuels inflation and makes basic necessities more expensive. Power tends to protect itself. Many people in positions of authority end up serving their own interests and those of their inner circle—dangling carrots in front of the public while expanding their reach. It’s often a fool’s game with a few winners and many losers. That said, I remain hopeful. AI could also make knowledge nearly universal. And when knowledge spreads, consciousness can grow. Once you see through the illusions, you stop getting trapped by them. Make love, not war, my Nostr family.

We’re living through a profound turning. For a long time, progress meant solving problems faster. Intelligence was measured by output and speed. Now AI can do most of that quicker and more effortlessly. AI is not a replacement for humans but more an invitation for us to return to what cannot be outsourced or sped up: – presence – silence – meaning This turning seems to be pushing many of us back toward practices that don’t scale: journaling, contemplation, conversation, silence and simpler living. As the external world accelerates, the inner world must deepen. What a great time to be alive you beauties.

The more capable AI becomes, the more obvious it is that consciousness was never about intelligence.
