Quick questions for all nostritches, especially those building apps. Is there a decentralized storage problem? Is it desirable to have a public decentralized "Google Drive?" I'm thinking of something akin to that of IPFS but with Bitcoin. Perhaps this isn't necessary considering torrenting sites. I'd love opinions. Maybe I'm asking the wrong questions.

You know that feeling when you notice someone's baiting for a debate that will not only never end but won't produce anything fruitful or meaningful. Don't take the bait. All they want is to either debate endlessly or win, there's no such thing as help in their minds. They don't really care about truth nor the answer. They get off to expedient things and they prey on those who might be gullible enough to fall for the trap. They will parasiticlly feed off of you and your disagreements. You are sport and a game to them, not a person. You will get fake politeness, backhanded agreements, and a tapestry of clever lies that hide within their arguments. Once you've spotted them, it's okay to leave the conversation despite how they might try to make you look. Direct yourself towards meaningful things.

If I can remember, I should try to leverage NOSTR a bit more. I haven't really done a whole lot of in-depth searching or exploring on the platform. πŸ€”

Alright so I've been starting a new, healthier diet. It's been working wonders already around day 7. I feel like I have more cognitive energy and I might also have more physical energy too. I want to test the physical component soon. The last time I thought I had pushed myself it felt like I could have done more. Also, doing things in general has gotten easier. Little things like house chores used to be somewhat burdensome. Now they are things I actively want to do and I also feel like I have the cognitive energy to engage in more things and activities. Sleep has actually been fairly easy every night regardless of when I go to sleep. Weirdly I feel like I have more energy in the night. Last night I stayed up quite late and still felt like I had the energy to do more. I decided to go to sleep regardless of the fact and it never bothers me that I have this new energy. It seems like I can just fall asleep easier. I can generally focus on more positive things.

I haven't yet made a note about the last two episodes that aired for Doctor Who. Rogue was very cookie cutter Doctor Who filler and I'm very glad it exists. It wasn't amazing but it's a breath of fresh air among all of the more "out there" episodes we've been getting this season. The first part of the finale, The Legend of Ruby Sunday, was fantastic. I was only a little disappointed that everyone was right about Sutekh's return. I felt like bringing back the Beast from the 10th doctor's era would have been more exciting for me personally. I feel like the next episode will justify Sutekh's return and it could very well be linked with the Beast. Who knows... I honestly can't wait to see the next season of Doctor Who. I'm very curious as to how the show will incorporate these more powerful fantasy elements while maintaining the status of classic villains we know and love. How do you make the Daleks powerful or relevant now that the Doctor has gone up against literal gods in the modern era? Perhaps that's something we shouldn't be concerned with. πŸ€”

Just finished watching the latest Doctor Who episode, Dot and Bubble. This felt like an episode that would have come from Russel T Davies' first era of Doctor Who. Personally, I'm extremely impressed with the season thus far. I liked the previous episode 73 Yards and this episode is no exception. Where as 73 Yards gave me a plethora of interesting questions, Dot and Bubble leaves behind a thought provoking ending. RTD's second era is shaping up to be not only one of the best in the show's history but also the weirdest and perhaps the boldest in its commentary. Only time will tell how I feel about such commentary but I can confirm that I have liked just about every episode so far.

Fees on Bitcoin right now are looking good in my eyes. I wonder what's been happening on chain. Are we seeing nicer fees due to people leaving ordinals and inscriptions behind? Maybe it's the filtering Bitcoin Knots is doing alongside Ocean. Maybe this is just a blip or something. One thing's for sure, I have no idea what's going on.

Just finished watching the new Doctor Who episode Boom written by Steven Moffat. Oh yes, this is very much a Steven Moffat episode. There are obviously some "Moffat-isms" in this episode and there's at least one reference to the 11th doctor. Personally, I really liked the episode and I'll be eagerly waiting for more. Doctor Who really is back. For me personally, I think it's in top form and I'm loving it. This season might rank as one of my favorites by the time it's done. The question is whether it can keep me happy and if it'll be an international success.

So I watched the two new Doctor Who episodes. I felt like Space Babies was extremely good minus a few minor problems. I felt like The Devil's Chord hadn't lived up to it's potential but it gets a pass considering it's supposed to set up the Toymaker's pantheon. I feel like The CGI for The Devil's Chord will age poorly. Otherwise I think these two episodes are strong openers for the new season.

So I've been playing Minecraft off and on for a few weeks now. When I was younger I used to play during the beta and early release days. I stopped playing and at this point my old Mojang account is gone forever. Anyways, that's not the point. The point is that I've been playing it again and I'm starting to learn more about the modern game. The more I learn, the more I appreciate, and the more I like it. When I first returned to the game I was impressed at how much was added. Back in the day, I felt like Minecraft was less of a game and more of a social experiment sandbox. These days, Minecraft feels like a full game. It's still that social experiment sandbox but it feels less so for some reason. I'll give you an example for how my attitude has changed toward the game. Perhaps you might have a similar experience. When the Ender Dragon was released, I felt like it was pointless and took away from what the game was supposed to be. I felt like it was supposed to be a sandbox where you build things. The major "criticism" of Minecraft was that your creativity is the limit. Once your creativity runs out, the game gets boring. Today, I feel like defeating the Ender Dragon is the main reason to play the game. There's content that supports you and builds on itself as you journey towards the Ender Dragon and once you've defeated it, you've effectively finished the game in some sense. The game now has this linear feeling. Perhaps it's just my own mind shifting and looking at the game in a linear way. However, you don't have to engage with anything you don't want to engage with. The way you play the game is entirely up to you but generally you know you're going to eventually defeat the Ender Dragon. One thing I've found interesting is my shift in thinking about Minecraft. For some people it's a game that facilitates your creativity and for others it's about pushing it to its limits. To another extent it might also be about pushing yourself to your limits. I think that the ways in which Minecraft can be played has been adopted into the game's design. I didn't feel like this was the case years ago. Another interesting mind shift, I don't think this game is just for children anymore. I used to think that not too long ago but now I see how vast and deep the game really can go. I bet a lot of kids simply won't put the kind of effort and hours that might be required to do some of the most impressive things done in Minecraft. I've had friends who mock people for playing Minecraft since children like the game. I used to be under the impression that since Minecraft is a game limited by your creativity only kids could be entertained by it due to kids' natural creativity, proclivity towards play-pretend, and their wonder. All which traits adults grow out of. Despite this, adults are still playing the game and they still like it for various reasons. And I guess that's it. That's my ramble. Nothing all that profound to be honest. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

I am rejoicing! For I have found a way to play ToonTown Corporate Clash on Linux. 🀯

Yes, now THIS is how it's done! I'm really digging these new models for ToonTown Rewritten's Under New Management update. They've really kept the classic spirit of the original game, era, and style by working within the limits of what's already in the game.

So I like ToonTown. It's an old MMO that was made by Disney in the 2000's and kept alive through non-profit community efforts like ToonTown Rewritten. There are several other community servers that do different things with new shiny content. ToonTown Corporate Clash is one of them and I had the pleasure of trying it out last year. Unfortunately, the developers for ToonTown Corporate Clash have deliberately made their launcher incompatible with Proton. Since I run on nothing but Linux, I was disappointed that I was no longer able to play. Sure, I like ToonTown Rewritten a little more but I was starting to dig Corporate Clash's gameplay. I checked their Discord to make sure it wasn't an unintentional bug. Apparently, the user who usually helps with Linux problems has been warned by the moderators to not give help to Linux users. With such a small player base, it's insane to me that they would do this on purpose. I suppose it comes down to cheating but then again, who would want to cheat in such a niche retro PvE game? Like, I imagine that the kinds of cheats people would use for a game like ToonTown to be decently benign but I wouldn't exactly know. I wanted to reach out to them, express my feelings, and get a better picture of the circumstances. I decided that I wasn't going to muster up the energy. I felt like they would outright ignore me or ban me for having played on Linux in the first place. Then again, I don't necessarily need to tell them that I played on Linux... Hm, well now I've thought of that I might ask them. Regardless, I've been a little bummed out about it. Because sometimes I would play some Corporate Clash on my desktop instead of Rewritten. I generally prefer playing Rewritten on my Steam Deck. So ya I might ask them some questions sometime soon.

I've been playing this game that only came out about 3 months ago called Corn Kidz 64. It's a retro styled platformer game inspired by Super Mario 64 and other titles from that era. It's extremely impressive at capturing the aesthetic of that time and the way the game feels mimics the era as well. Graphical and display settings are low res with a 4:3 aspect ratio by default. The game is locked at 30 FPS so naturally I assume a lot of the game was designed with this in mind. The movement has weight meaning you can't turn on a dime. You'll need to be deliberate or at least used to playing these kinds of weighty games with 30 FPS. As for the platforming it's actually quite forgiving since the game will magnetize you on to pipes, bubbles, bird-bombs, enemies, and other things. Combat is pretty simple for the most part with only one enemy requiring the player to do a bit more than just spamming the action button. Yes the game can feel a little "janky" at times but I believe it's completely on purpose. The camera also works similarly to Super Mario 64. But I just gotta say this, the game's Steam page has an indicator I've probably never seen on a new game before. A controller is REQUIRED to play the game! Keyboard and mouse is not supported! Holly molly, that's a bold choice for a PC game! It's a good thing you can play it with a wide range of controllers, including the original N64 controller. As far as I know the game is only on PC. As of right now, it's sort of a pseudo handheld gaming PC exclusive. Perhaps maybe it's more accurate to call it a Steam exclusive? Thinking about former is a little bonkers to me. Of course I want people who only own consoles to play this too, but as of right now I would point to this title as a must play "exclusive." A title that you should absolutely buy a handheld gaming PC to play. Now I'm surprised I hadn't encountered the game earlier. Then again, it wouldn't have been possible. I was on a trip to California around the release time so it's not like I was looking for new games to play. Well, my attention has been set on playing a lot of retro games I already own. So there's that for ya... But in any case, I really feel like this game is going to be indie game of 2023 or maybe even indie game of 2024. This reminds me a lot of Pizza Tower. Pizza Tower has that retro 90's MS Paint vibe and if I recall correctly, some of its design was taken from some old Wario games. Regardless, I can see Corn Kidz 64 taking off on YouTube and becoming more mainstream within this year if not a few months.

It's crazy that the last time I posted something on nostr was 3 weeks ago and it wasn't because I couldn't. It really goes to show that this platform isn't addicting. 0_0

I switched it back to not automatically update the home page with new notes. The performance is better now. Just gotta refresh the page if I want to see new notes. Since the cosmetic differences between Snort and Primal are minimal I think I'll use my own instance of Snort for a while. Right so enough about Snort... I was trying out ToonTown Corporate Clash on my Linux PC and it was running fine for quite a while. They recently pushed out an update to the launcher and now Proton can't run it. It's strange because I kept the old installation exe and it still runs the launcher just fine. I have no idea what the Corporate Clash devs did but whatever it was makes the game crash through Proton. I've tested it on the latest version of Proton-GE as well. I haven't exactly went through all the versions of Proton but I assume those aren't going to help. Seems like they've done something specific that would need require an update to Proton to accommodate. Hopefully it wasn't a thing that they did on purpose.
