GM! The Fed has never been independent and has always politicized. The only real option is to disband the whole institution. Otherwise such unimaginable power will always eventually be abused. The right answer is to realize no tiny group of people (mostly unelected to boot) should have that power. Voting harder is for retards.

I think the quantum threat is wildly overstated by all objective evidence, e.g. they can’t even factor a number higher than a smart 5th grader. But I think we should get a quantum safe address going just so people with STFU about it.

GM! Bitcoin will die unless it eventually develops a sustained high fee environment. Everyone needs to start getting comfortable that no one is entitled to permanent low fees unless you want Bitcoin to die. Act accordingly.
My grandfather came back from fighting in the US army in the pacific theater of WW2 as a pacifist. He told me nothing was worth the horrors he saw, and that war was mostly rich old men sending poor young men to die. My great grandfather fled WW1 alone as a child after watching soldiers torture his entire family to death.

GM, spicy take time: the default security/privacy position of a stock iPhone is superior to the average stock android phone. Absolutely if you are savvy enough to heavily customize Android settings or run a custom rom such as Graphene this can tilt, but for the average pleb who will run the out of the box software largely unchanged then iPhone is more secure and private. It’s just not a smart way to get what you want. Highly counter productive.
If anyone asks for ID info/pictures online, always immediately ask if it is legally required or if they just want to have it. Shockingly often people will admit it’s not required and they have alternatives that may not be too much more effort.
Make saying no or at least asking questions the default.

I think we need more thought around your “grip” on your keys, aka the strength of your backups in these discussions. At one extreme, No backup = no grip, your key could be lost at any time and you couldn’t do anything about it. At the other extreme, A seed phrase in steel (if singlesig) is an ironclad backup. Bitkey is somewhere more towards the seed phrase end, but still a good ways off of it. There are multiple sources of outside dependencies, e.g. on Block and your Apple/google cloud account.
Again it’s a great tradeoff for noobs with a modest stack. But it’s important to not gloss over the massive nuance.

GM! I’m happy to pay in BTC and support BTC only companies. But static pricing in sats is not workable at this stage of adoption. For now we need dynamic pricing based on USD converted into sats. Almost everyone is still earning in USD and even when everyone gets paid in BTC, the amount of sats will likely decline over time. Expecting me to pay 40%+ more than a few months back when the good or service is essentially unchanged is a poor value proposition.
