Nostr is a place where you can just invent new things

@Zap Cooking Android app is now available on @Zapstore 📱⚡️
Today was all about getting the bunker workflow right. It took about 40 rounds of testing, but it’s finally behaving. 😅
If you try it, let me know what breaks (or what works).

@Zap Cooking is going to be the app that brings Nostr to the normie crowd.
Our advantage is simple. We’re all hungry. 🍽️⚡️
@Derek Ross laid it out well tonight. Square terminals are everywhere.
The real problem to solve isn’t payments themselves, it’s the Visa and Amex fees.
That’s the gap. A built-in 3% margin that merchants already accept as “normal,” and the opportunity sitting right in front of us.

Thanks everyone for the zaps. IOU. Rachel is a feisty questioner and doesn’t trust people. Serves as a bartender and hairdresser, so relies on tips. I think we planted a deep seed of curiosity. While we couldn’t get her to the close, we learned a lot. She’s a bitcoiner but doesn’t know it yet. Will be back to close on her conversion to the orange side. 🧡

Trying to convince my new friend Rachel that I can earn Bitcoin by posting a picture of a Cheesesteak on nostr. Don’t let her prove me wrong 🤙

Who wants to do some testing of the @Zap Cooking android app? I will need an email for the early internal release. Hopefully will have an approved release within a week 🤞
Day 361 ☀️
✨ "Gratitude turns what we have into enough."
— Anonymous
💫 "I trust the journey and enjoy the process."
🙏 I am grateful for the year end, for mew chapters and an opportunity to renew

The gifts keep on coming for @Zap Cooking 🎁
We’re taking food porn and adding zaps ⚡️ and emojis 🍕 to make it a full-stack experience.
Hungry? Zap Cooking.
Thinking about that traditional meal? Zap Cooking.
Because food is better with friends, family, and shared moments.
Oh yeah, and it’s open-source, community-driven, and built on a Nostr-native foundation. ⚡️
Good luck to the haters 🤙

A lot of work (and Claude credits) went into this, but honestly the aha moment was worth it. I might be a little too proud of this one. 😂

View quoted note →Hey friends. Quick Christmas update on Zap Cooking.
I’ve been spending more time building lately, and the direction has really settled in for me. Zap Cooking isn’t just about recipes. It never really was. It’s about food culture.
Cooking is social. It’s what you’re eating, where you’re eating, who you’re cooking for, and the little moments around food that don’t always belong in a recipe card. That’s what we’ve been building toward.
We added a global food feed alongside recipes. You can see food conversations from people you already follow, or you can turn that off and step into the broader food conversation happening across Nostr. It’s there if you want it, and out of the way if you don’t.
Curation matters, so we did it the open-source way. All food curation is transparent and client-side. You can see how your feed is shaped and had a voice in the direction. We also added muting so your feed stays calm and intentional.
There were a lot of smaller improvements too. Feeds load better, will continue to improve. Threads have more context. Images and videos render inline. Reposts and quotes now show up with rich previews so conversations feel connected. You can upload images directly from the community feed now as well.
Profiles got cleaned up to match the community feed, and there’s an OnlyFood™ toggle if you just want to focus on food.
At the end of the day, this is the direction:
Food. Friends. Freedom.
Zap Cooking is becoming a place to share food with friends and be part of a real community around food. No pressure. No noise.
Just in time for Christmas.
More to come. 🎄🍽️
