Good read. It reinforces something I already feel strongly about. We embrace this ethos on Nostr, where real meritocracy exists. When you build open source software, you can’t hide from feedback. People either like it or they don’t. I think we should be looking at companies like Red Hat as a model for how sustainable business can work on Nostr. That feels like the way forward. image

Nice fatty from the legend! Makes me wonder, how many 10k, 100k, 1M zaps had there been? Would be a cool project dashboard. 🤔 View quoted note →

My Nostr-Themed Focus for 2026 2026 is about continuing to build. Build products, build habits, build community, and build toward a more open and human web. @Zap Cooking will remain a central focus. We will keep building it into a mobile-first, user-led Nostr client. New features are already in motion, and more are coming. Our priority is simple: put people first. We listen closely to the community, pay attention to how people actually use the app, and let those real conversations guide what we build next. Features don’t start with technology, they start with how people cook, eat, share, and connect. We’ll also explore sustainable, ad-free ways to support long-term growth so Zap Cooking can stand on its own without compromising values. Alongside that, I’ll continue to deepen GratefulDay.space as a daily gratitude practice and philosophical space on Nostr. This means going beyond surface level gratitude and leaning into reflection, meaning, and fundamentals. The mobile lessons and infrastructure we’re developing through Zap Cooking will compound here as well. I’ll also keep building SoberKey.org, improving the client and exploring how it can better serve recovery communities, including potential outreach to AA circles and other recovery groups. Personally, I’m starting the year with a dry January and using that momentum to reset habits and support the broader mission of sobriety and connection. On the personal side, I’ll continue growing my @RUNSTR presence. Running and fitness are a priority 2026, not just for health, but for consistency and discipline. Runstr will be my go-to for tracking runs and other workouts. I’ll also keep exploring new music through @Fountain , @Wavlake , and @zaptrax, supporting creators and staying plugged into the value-for-value ecosystem. Community remains the through line. We’ll continue Nostr Valley as our annual anchor event, but I also want to expand locally. That means working more closely with local businesses, the Chamber of Commerce, and anyone interested in building outside the walled gardens. AI tools like Shakespeare have made it easier than ever for businesses to own their websites and tools. If they’re going to build, they might as well build on open protocols. Nostr fits naturally here, and I want to help make that connection real. Finally, I’ll stay visible and accessible. Podcasts, conversations, events, if someone wants to talk about building on Nostr, community driven software, or the long game of the open web, I’m in. 2026 isn’t about hype. It’s about compounding work, shared effort, and building things that last. 🤙💜

@Zap Cooking Android app is now available on @Zapstore 📱⚡️ Today was all about getting the bunker workflow right. It took about 40 rounds of testing, but it’s finally behaving. 😅 If you try it, let me know what breaks (or what works). image

@Zap Cooking is going to be the app that brings Nostr to the normie crowd. Our advantage is simple. We’re all hungry. 🍽️⚡️
