~73 million #bitaxe Gammas is all we need in order to control 10% of the network hashrate. Fewer if they’re over-clocked. @npub1ql2z...rxya how close do you think we are to that number today? Onward 🫡 image View quoted note →

GM Struggling to figure out how to structure your hodling vs spending Bitcoin? Solution: every time you acquire any fiat, pay your bills, and then flip every remaining penny into Bitcoin. Then, any time you want to buy anything, guess what: you’ll be spending Bitcoin. Chances are, you’ll end up with more sats at the end of the day.

I’m starting to think #BitAxe pool mining actually can be profitable, if you lengthen your time preference sufficiently. Maybe. One option is the mini-pool/block-party mining endeavors like the one we enjoyed today. We’ll find a block soon enough; just need to stare at our BitAxes with a bit more intentionality. Math approach: lightly overclock a Gamma to earn ~69 daily sats in a pool with Lightning payouts (nice)… That’s 25K sats per year. You spent approximately 150K sats on the BitAxe (or around $150 today). Say Bitcoin appreciates 2x over 3 years (75,000 sats at $200K BTC/USD). Hardware cost is now paid for. Another 3 years and you‘ve earned 150K sats (worth ∞ pieces of clown paper at this point in the fiat timeline). Electricity is negligible — offset it by unplugging your printer when you aren’t using it, or something. Difficulty adjustments, network hashrate, and hardware improvements/efficiency gains notwithstanding, it’s easy math 😂 In any case, the 69 sats I mined yesterday will eventually pay for my grandkid’s college tuition, so — like I said — just gotta lengthen your time preference. Yo nostriches! Have you heard there’s a Block Party happening… right now! One hour left 💪 Not your typical neighborhood potluck, though… we’re looking hashrate to try and mine a block this afternoon, with a cumulative 175+ petahash currently trying to find that magic number. Join us at — pay a Lightning invoice for a few sats and get in on the party. (Literally 150 sats gets ya 10 TH/s). How about this… if you aren’t already hashing, sign up and join Team Arusha, and snag at least 33 TH/s (cost 495 sats), I’ll zap 500 sats to your reply below showing that you signed up. (Link to rigly profile, invoice receipt screenshot, whatever). Or point your BitAxe at the ckPool address and show me your pool settings 🤘 Oh, and you have to use my buddy’s referral code “ANON” when you sign up, because his birthday is today. LFG ⛏️🧱🧮⚡️ PS: hey @Evan Baer hope this helps 😉 Cc @Rigly @QW @MAKE SONGS LONGER

It’s Chris that nearly everyone I see on nostr or hear on a podcast is against this new change to Core, and yet it’s still being pushed through… is it an issue with my “sample” data? Or are core devs just saying “gfo” to most users’ preferences? #asknostr
