You will be given a vitamin D supplement, which will raise your LDL, then they will give you a statin, which will impair your mitochondria, then you will be given metformin, duloxetine or pregabalin, and on the cycle goes. Really, all you needed was some sun. image

We are scared of the wrong things. We fear alienation. We fear not fitting in. We fear criticism, embarrassment and failure. How about the idea that we have less than 5000 weeks on this earth? 5000 weeks to do something worthy of the gift of life. This is the way. image

What happens to your ability to uncouple your mitochondria and burn of excess calories or regulate temperature when you are on statins and develop a CoQ10 deficiency? image

Levers pulling on mitochondrial function are impaired (thyroid function for example)

Butyrate is a mitochondrial nutrient. But its never mentioned alongside CoQ10, PQQ, B vitamins, etc. 1) Direct fuel source Colonocytes preferentially use it as their main energy substrate. Butyrate enters mitochondria and undergoes ฮฒ-oxidation โ†’ acetyl-CoA โ†’ TCA cycle โ†’ ATP. Brr.. Very nice. 2) Epigenetic regulation Butyrate inhibits histone deacetylases or HDACs. Learnt this from mr Greg. This changes gene expression in ways that upregulate mitochondrial biogenesis (via PGC-1ฮฑ, NRF1/2) and antioxidant defenses. 3. Redox balance Butyrate metabolism increases NADH and FADH2 supply to the ETC. 4. Anti-inflammatory signaling Really interested in this one regards to CDR. By dampening NF-KB and upregulating Nrf2 pathways, it reduces chronic inflammation and returns mitochondrial prioritisation to energy production. 5. Mitochondrial quality control Butyrate might also promote mitophagy and fusion/fission dynamics so that lowers heteroplasmy.

Things that are basically NEVER mentioned in medical school: - Anything regarding light - Circadian biology - Importance of mitochondria - Biophysics of water - Toxins (xenoestrogens, glyphosate, heavy metals) - Importance of micronutrients

Balanced sunlight exposure increases vagal tone while artificial light reduces it. People underestimate the consequences of this. Vagal tone reprograms the immune system to facilitate anti-inflammatory, pro-resolving functions which has profound effects on all chronic-disease states as well as neuropsychiatric issues like generalized anxiety, obsessive thoughts, PTSD etc.

All chronic diseases have issues with cellular bioenergetics at their core. Mitochondrial dysfunction is the linchpin underlying all of this. Cardiovascular diseases, cancers, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes, etc. If you want to optimise your health you have to start with your mitochondria. This is what decentralised health optimisation is about.

Your mitochondria love novelty. Cold water, sunset views, hikes, unexpected challenges, they all signal growth in a functioning anti-fragile system. Side-quest maxxing is mitochondrial hormesis.

Many people have functional deficiencies that are being overlooked by only focusing on absolute deficiencies in their labs. Great thing about metabolomics testing is that the imbalances often tell you about functional deficiencies. Intake is one thing. Absorption is another. Then there is assimilation, utilisation, depletion and potential blockages to enzymatic activity (& genetics) as well. image

Understanding these changes and how they compare to artificial light sources is key to optimizing your health. Using spectrometry, we can observe these shifts and see why early morning natural light exposure is crucial for synchronizing our internal clocks. At sunrise, the intensity of blue light rapidly increases, reaching the same level as red and near-infrared light. UVA first enters the spectrum of light we receive when the sun is roughly 10 degrees above the horizon. And the UVB rise takes place at 30 degrees. During solar noon peak, the blue portion of the spectrum becomes dominant. At this time, blue light intensity surpasses other wavelengths, acting as a powerful daytime signal to the body. This reinforces wakefulness, cognitive alertness, and metabolic function. This is why you want to get outside as often as possible throughout the day, to give your mitochondrial colony & physiological systems the accurate inputs it requires to function optimally. image

Can T levels predict trading profitability? Testosterone level (+ androgenic metabolites) and risk-taking have a bidirectional relationship. So in a bull market, where it pays to put more risk on the table (sensibly), it may be beneficial to have higher T levels. There are actually some studies on this as well. - Traders with higher 11:00 a.m. testosterone levels made significantly greater profits for the rest of the day. - Days with above-median morning testosterone yielded 25% higher profits on average. - Testosterone rose on days when traders exceeded their monthly average P&L. - This suggests a "winner effect," where success boosts testosterone, potentially encouraging further risk-taking. Is there a wealth transfer occurring from low T to high T men?

Why is vitamin B1 key for gut health? B1 โžœ Acetylcholine synthesis โžœ Vagus nerve โžœ Parasympathetic tone. This leads to: - Increased blood flow to the gut - Digestive enzyme secretion - Improved motility via MMC - Reduced inflammation - Reduced intestinal permeability
