In some ways, Bitcoin restricts freedoms. All systems do, even if they produce more freedoms than the systems before it.
In what way does Bitcoin restrict freedom? It's still money, after all.

I think the way I program just changed. Thank you @Alex Gleason,

I feel like the Like button shouldn’t exist on nostr.
Coming from TikTok, a drugged out version of social media, I mostly see nostr as a rehab of social media.
It makes me question why the Like button exists. The Like button was designed for advertisers. We have a competitor to the like button here and we ought to flex that. The Like button is a time-sink designed to optimize reactions and superficially uncommitted engagement.
I feel like zaps shouldn’t be considered “super likes” but the default action. Content that gets created is valued at maximum authenticity and it incentivizes creativity and real interaction between individuals and communities.
Feel like rebranding "followers" to "connections" or something like that would be a healthy thing for the internet. "Followers" implied a kind of awkward hierarchical relationship, mostly meant for advertisers and personal brands.
BIP-8071
I propose we settle BIP-177 with fisticuffs. Elect two of the finest boxers and the winner decides the future notation.
I feel pretty strongly that nostr is a game changer for education technology and maybe even education as a whole. There is an authentic innovation and product market fit there.
I would genuinely appreciate your attention or sharing of this demo and would love to hear your thoughts or opinions on the matter.

First day working on an avocado farm & beginning the transition off US stress and into Bitcoin x nostr #puravida
What’s the best way to mine bitcoin in rural Mexico? We got solar panels powering farms and boilers in homes these days 🤔
Well now that I've moved to Mexico, my little bootstrapped startup is profitable lol
What do people on nostr want and what do they need? #asknostr
Many Latino folks working their generation corporate jobs eventually come across disillusionment climbing the corporate ladder.
The corporate machine is a game of status, not a game over diversity nor a game of merit. It’s status.
nostr is cool but what happens if you keys get leaked and people start laundering money with it?
I feel like I developed something really beautiful with nostr but I don't have the energy or spirit to promote. A lot of market stuff is honestly just some combination of luck, timing and consistency.
Well either way, I'm pretty proud of what I've created even if it largely goes unseen.
All I did was talk about zapping nuts with my nutsack

I know a lot of people on nostr don’t use TikTok but the main conversation on TikTok right now is TikTok getting banned in 30 days.
We’re going to see plenty of people come here, but a lot of creators are hopelessly moving to Instagram & Bluesky.
Sometimes your best work done is in a state of depression. I think there's good reason for this because you end up isolating away a lot of the stuff that matters and focus on very few things.
If one of those few things is an idea or some kind of work you never let go of, I think it says a lot about the nature of that idea or work. It exists in a bigger picture.
Wow writing the software to create your first nutzap with NIP-60 and NIP-61 is genuinely a wild feeling. It’s a combination of many wonderful technologies creating something visceral.
2025 is going to be an amazing year. @calle you rock!

Want to work a Cashu project I haven't fully sorted out yet on an edtech app:
1. User moves Bitcoin from Cash App to the edtech app using cashu
2. Users select a receiving wallet, be it a school, person or what have you
3. User answers a question, creates a token, and sends that token to the receiving wallet
4. Receiving token accumulates sats based on student's progress and can then offboard to a private hot/cold wallet to save or use their bitcoin
Are there any limits I should be aware of @`calle 👁️⚡👁️`or is something like this feasible?

I feel like Bluesky is kinda like Reddit.
