It is Showy milkweed, like you may have seen before - only fuzzier. ‘Davis’ Showy milkweed performs best at sea level but holds its own when planted across the broad range of Showy milkweed in the western United States. While both are fuzzy. The thricomes of ‘Davis’ Showy milkweed are a bit denser and longer. It’s not a clone, not cultivar. It’s just a Showy milkweed that has adapted to look a little different. Before I sold out of the seeds. I cultivated 44 plants and they are likely to produce fresh seeds this summer.

Inflation pushes us backwards.

I’m donating a lot of common milkweed seeds to the Virginia Master Gardener Group to distribute at the Virginia State Fair in September. They are some of my older collection, 2022. So I will do this germination test of 100 seeds while they travel. Water germination if a 5-7 day process of bathing the seed in warm water. Freshen the water twice a day.
