The movie Jaws was one of my childhood favs. It messed me up enough that I'd picture a great white in a crystal clear pool, fully aware there was nothing in there. I still checked the deep end. The dream was always to swim with one outside the cage. No bars, just me and a fish. Decades later I still haven't done it, and somewhere in there I watched Quint slide down that shark's throat enough times for it to finally sink in. I have swam with other sharks though. Beautiful creatures. So at some point, I'm going. In the cage. Kid me would call that soft, but kid me also thought a bigger boat fixed everything. 🦈

Humans crave certainty. We'll trade our money and our freedom for it, and most people will take a confident wrong answer over an honest "I don't know." But nobody ever has the full picture. Most of the decisions that shape your life get made with half the information. The people who admit that are usually the sharpest ones in the room, because they keep verifying and build margin into their plans. The guy who's certain walks straight off the edge and feels confident the whole way down. Accepting uncertainty doesn't mean freezing. It means holding your position loosely enough to update it and firmly enough to move. Stack sats, train, love your people, and stop waiting for a guarantee that was never coming.

Every time someone begs Washington for "better crypto regulation," I wonder if they forgot how we got here. If the fix needs a regulator's blessing, it's not a fix. We came for protocols that don't give a sh*t what a regulator thinks. P2P, permissionless, and spread so wide there's nobody to call when they want it shut off. That was the whole point, and it still is. Let them write their rules. Build the stuff the rules can't reach.

I'm tired of watching the people in charge bulldoze common sense and expect us to clap for it. Moral values, logic, basic reason, they're tearing it all down on purpose and handing us a dog's breakfast of "new norms" like we're too dumb to notice. We notice. Anybody who's ever paid a bill or raised a kid can see exactly what's going on. They don't get to redefine reality just because they think they own the microphone. Common sense isn't up for a vote. Stop apologizing for having it.
