Growing on Nostr is a process. It will take time. You will feel invisible for stretches. Stay with it. The people who stuck around long enough to feel like fixtures were strangers not that long ago. You get out of Nostr what you put in. Hit that recycle button. Someone in their first week needs to read this.

I actually enjoyed listening to Buckley Carlson. Apart from their financial illiteracy, these two are waking up! A good watch actually. View quoted note →

I drove past 2 smoke shops, 4 liquor stores and 7 fast food joints on my way to pick up illegal raw milk because the government really cares about our health.

The most effective life is almost boring from the outside. A man whose work testifies. Whose family testifies. Whose keys, contracts, code, and confession all say the same thing. He does not need to be believed. He is evidenced. And the ones who follow him caught him not trying to be followed.

May all legacy platforms continue down their designed paths. When the replies are synthetic, the trending topics are synthetic, and the engagement is synthetic, you’re not on a social network. You’re in a simulation with ads.

Norman Finkelstein’s parents survived the Warsaw Ghetto and Auschwitz. He spent his career arguing that American Jewish institutions took that suffering and built an industry on it, and he was blacklisted from academia for saying so out loud. His claim was straightforward. After 1967, when Israel’s strategic value to Washington became obvious, a memory that had been largely private among survivors was professionalized into museums, curricula, films, and foundations. Not to honor the dead, but to discipline the present. The mechanism is simple. Any challenge to Israeli policy, any audit of the $3.8 billion annual transfer, any senator who hesitates on a resolution gets routed through the camps. Disagreement becomes denial. Policy becomes theology. Finkelstein’s word for it was extortion, and he meant it precisely. Not of Germans, who paid. Not of Swiss banks, who paid. Of the American political conscience, which pays in foreign policy autonomy. The atrocity is real. The leverage built on top of it is a separate object, and a legitimate target. Refusing to distinguish them is how the leverage survives. You are allowed to grieve the six million and audit the lobby. Finkelstein, whose family was the six million, insisted on it until they took his tenure. The least the rest of us can do is read him. image

The group chat with my best friends would be a hate crime indictment in the UK, Germany, or France. Americans have no idea what they actually have. image
